Taste of a sweeter life || thecookieregiment
Things were usually calm and there was no reason for hurry to show up on Haru’s routine, nor in his life. He could come and go and do as he wished, no rush and no worries at all. At least when he tried to make it like he had actually nothing to worry about.
It wasn’t like he wanted to blame it on someone else since it had been because of his own negligence and lack of self care that this had happened, and still he couldn’t help associating this to that time of his life. That time when he left.
Weakness. Even when he had a lot physic activities, this stain wasn’t something easily erased. In fact, it couldn’t. Haru was sick, and this kind of sickness made it easier for any other to come. He knew it, but he still didn’t take care of it properly. Anemia. Auto-something-anemia. Something with blood. Tiredness. Short breaths...
He usually didn’t feel bad about it, he thought it was over once he managed to get back on his ideal weigh and resumed swimming, eating three times and that stuff he always heard... Still, not the good things, not the best routine. Anemia wasn’t the problem anymore, it was what it had let in along.
Until it couldn’t be ignored anymore. There were times he did felt tired, or like his head spun if he stood up too quickly, but as an athlete, a swimmer, he had never felt his breath was a problem... Haru just kept telling himself it was fine... Until he couldn’t hide it from the others.
He got out of the pool as usual, pushing himself up and standing on his feet. Too fast. His head felt lighter and lighter until he just fainted. Of course his club mates had to do something, try and wake him up, take him to the nurse since he wasn’t answering... He scared them, even when they all might want to know what happened, only the teacher in charge, the captain and manager could stay...
When he woke up, half of his secret was out. The other half was still something he couldn’t understand how big and dangerous it was...
