((Hi everyone!!!! I haven’t really been here lately so I just wanted to put up a notice that I am around and alive and I’m not planning on leaving Rin or anything!!!! If anything my passion for Rin’s character has been even STRONGER lately so it’s definitely not that! >u< I’ve just been sooooo busy lately with work and other things, and my weekends have been filled up with stuff too. Then in my down time I’m sleepy which is no good for roleplaying! ^^;; But I’ll hopefully find the chance to get to replies soon, just wanted to let everyone know I haven’t forgotten them~

By loose I mean it’s not entirely correct, but I used words that sounded best for a username because why not ~ Usually my usernames are silly or involve a name so tbh this is the best one I’ve made even if it might not be 100% accurately translated, haha.

“Haru’s birthday, huh? But gettin’ him a present is kinda embarrassing...”

     “Geez, the hell does Haru even like?”

Haru slowly ate the chocolate waiting to see if the heat would eventually appear. He was relieved when he didn’t taste anything off with it and glad that he wasn’t so unlucky as to pick the wrong one on his first go. He finished eating it before he spoke. “It’s normal,” he said and passed the die to Rin.

“Your turn."

Rin knew Haru’s expressions weren’t exactly loud, but soon it was pretty obvious that Haru hadn’t picked the chili pepper chocolate. He confirmed that fact as well, and Rin frowned. “You just got lucky.” He muttered, taking the die from Haru. “I’m still gonna win.”

Rin clasped the die in two hands, shaking it wildly before tossing it across the table. It rolled far before finally stopping on five. Rin wasted no time picking up the labeled chocolate, taking a sharp bite of it as though he was filled with confidence.

He chewed and tried to hide any sign on flinching in his face. He wouldn’t admit it, but he did feel nervous about chewing into something terrible. Sweets weren’t really Rin’s favorite either so regardless this taste wasn’t something Rin would consider good, but as he finished the chocolate he realized he didn’t have the chili pepper either.

He grinned. “It’s normal!”

[ 🎨 ] — Violet hues skims through the crowd in anticipation, though when it became apparent whom his speaking adversary was, an eyebrow was raised in question as Rin pushes through the crowd of student just to meet him.

     “I must admit, I was a little expectant of a female entity. Though a male is, not bad as well.” Narsus chuckles, before tapping a finger to the paper he have in hand, laughing warmly when he saw the tensity riddles across the lines of the redhead’s face. “Nothing particularly serious, just relax.” A wave of delicate fingers as he beckons Rin to follow him. “I imagine it’s just a fault in the office’s systems, the documents you sent in for your enrollment seems to be incomplete.”

Rin’s eyes narrowed at the comment, but quickly softened. His first name was typically a female’s-- it wasn’t as though he wasn’t used to people making this mistake at first. “It’s just my name, I’m a guy.” He muttered, even if he knew the other well realized that.

He wasn’t so much nervous by being suddenly called on as he was confused. Though having the situation quickly explained helped, and Rin was able to relax as he followed the other male. “Really?” He asked. “I’ll check it out, but I know I finished them.” Rin was responsible by nature and always double-checked the things he did. He was certain he couldn’t make a mistake like that. “Is it somethin’ we can fix?”

“I-It’s okay.” She shook her waving her hand slightly. “Y-Yeah our coach wanted a challenge so she entered us in the competition a couple of days from now.” She smiles slightly nodding her head.

She was happy he hadn’t noticed her eyes or at least wasn’t saying anything about them. “W-What about you? Is your school in this area?” She ask pointing to his own jacket hugging her towel.

“Well good luck.” Rin said with a smile. “I think when you get to compete in different places it changes everything. Hopefully it’ll be worth it to you.” While of course anyone that would be in the coming competition would act as a rival for Rin, he still meant his kind words genuinely. Just because he considered himself to be the best swimmer, didn’t mean he couldn’t wish others well wishes.

     “I’m about an hour away.” Rin said, knowing the girl probably wouldn’t recognize his school logo if she wasn’t from here. “We have a pool to train in at the school, but I thought a change of pace before the competition would help.”

A Little Lie

         “Sounds good to me.”, Makoto agreed softly and motioned for the redhead to lead the way. It didn’t take them long to reach the café, despite walking slowly so Makoto could take a proper look around. He’d been to the school before, but mostly it involved their team going straight for the indoor pool. Even during the school’s festival he hadn’t seen as much of the nearby area as he should have, too distracted by the festival and all the people. Now it was so much easier to pay attention to where they were going and properly keep note of their surroundings; if they ever agreed on meeting by the café he’d at least know where to go to.

        The walk was a comfortable one as Rin told him stories of things that had happened around the area, but even as they fell silent, it didn’t feel odd. In fact, it only proved why they got along so well in the first place. It was a different kind of friendship than he had with Haruka, hard to compare because the two of them were completeopposites, but he still valued them both. Makoto briefly wondered ifthey’d be this close if it weren’t for the fake dating, but it was athought he quickly shook off again. Of course they’d be, eventually,it might have simply taken them some more time to realize how wellthey got along in order to hang out more often again. With a plan inhead, it had just happened faster.

        Once they had arrived at the café and taken a seat, Makoto could see why it was popular. The waitress was exceptionally nice, the place seemed clean and the food he’d eyed on other people’s tables looked delicious. Even if it had felt odd not to go home with the rest of his team, he was more than happy to have stayed. Food and drinks were ordered and luckily didn’t take long to arrive; Makoto was usually starving after practise.

        Some time after he was done and they were still sitting and talking, Makoto reached across the table to intertwine their fingers. Rin had thrown him a startled look, but all it took was a quick nod into the direction of people who were their age. Even if the boys weren’t wearing any school uniforms, chances were high that they went to Samezuka High, so that justified his actions. It didn’t explain the way he could feel his ears heat up or why he absentmindedly strokedthe back of Rin’s hand with his thumb.

As it had been for the past few weeks, being alone with Makoto felt good. It made Rin cheerful which seemed natural for spending time with friends, but there was something different. Makoto was refreshing. He wasn’t the same as any of the people that Rin spent most of his time with, and he liked it. He found himself smiling more around Makoto, liking the way the brunet seemed so interested in the things Rin had to say. He was so gentle with Rin in responses, causing Rin to want to say more and more to him with little of Makoto’s effort.

Makoto seemed to like the café and Rin was glad about that. Even after they finished their meal the pair lingered, Rin in no hurry to leave the restaurant, and relieved when he saw that Makoto felt the same. But suddenly in mid-conversation, Makoto’s fingers wrapped around Rin’s. It surprised the redhead, not pulling away but still feeling heat rise in his face from the seemingly out of no where action.

It was a quick realization that Makoto was doing it because he saw Samezuka High students nearby, and with a glance over Rin knew he recognized at least one of them. They weren’t on his swim team but they were a classmate, and Rin knew Makoto was making the right call. Still, even knowing that didn’t make Rin relax and he couldn’t even place why. He was just thankful for the dim lighting in the café, and he hoped that meant Makoto wouldn’t notice anything.

Even so, Rin responded by gently holding Makoto’s hand back. He liked the way he was being touched, and somehow it managed to speed Rin’s heart rate up just a little. He gave Makoto’s hand a little squeeze, before leaning over the table a little to bring his face closer to the taller’s.

     “Hey, good job noticin’.” He whispered, a smile widening on his face. “You’re good at this.” Rin wasn’t pretending as he spoke; he was talking about their plan, after all. But the close proximity of their faces wasn’t helping to calm the redhead down and he needed to slowly sit himself back down as the blush on his face grew. Why these things were embarrassing now all of a sudden was beyond Rin’s acknowledgement, and he needed to tell himself that it was only because he didn’t expect Makoto to touch him. Yes, that had to be it-- Rin was taken off guard, so it had to be natural to react to that.

"I want to be a dentist! Your teeth are quite peculiar and I'm curious about them. Why are you being so stubborn? Do you fear me?" [Dentist? wow I had no idea about this lol. Nice excuse XD Rin = guinea pig ]

     “Dentist? Even if that’s true, I don’t wanna be used as some kind of study experiment.”

The redhead gave a deep sigh. “I’m not scared, but who would want someone to go and touch their teeth? I don’t think you’d like it if I started pryin’ your mouth open.”

Anyway I have to sign off now, but feel free to send me things to come back to! I’m working all week again but maybe I won’t be so busy and tired so I can find some time to come online >3<))

She looked around for her teammates probably looked lost to an onlooker. She frowned not seeing them anywhere. Had they not finished getting changed yet? She checked the water and the benches, hearing a voice to her left making her squeak and jump.

“U-Uh. No, actually I’m from Britain.” She replied to the boy looking at him briefly then down. Remembering she wasn’t wearing her green contact lens for her blue eye.

Rin flinched a little when he heard the girl squeak, immediately feeling bad. He knew he was a little sudden, but he didn’t mean to scare her. “Sorry.” He muttered, rubbing the back of his neck. “But Britain, huh? That’s pretty cool! You came from far then!” Rin had experience traveling abroad for swimming as well, so it was exciting for him to find someone to relate to.

Rin noticed the girl’s eyes didn’t match, but he didn’t say anything about it nor did he think to. After all, Rin had shark-like sharp teeth and bright maroon colored hair, so he knew well it was never his business to ask questions about someone’s looks.
