#readingupdate Hey everyone, happy Monday!! I am still binge watching Friends, but also binge reading the magisterium series. I know this series of Cassandra Clare and Holly Black is not much famous and often compared with Harry Potter. But, I think except for the magic school and friendship trio plot, there is nothing common between the two series. And I really love these characters. I just finished the second book and reading the third one right now. I hope I can finish this series this week because from next week, I want to do a Sarah.J Mass binge read, as I got House Of Sky And Breath in my hands, and I also got the ebooks of ACOTAR series. That is it for today, just hopped online for that small update. BONUS Book Talk 18.4~ The Copper Gauntlet

Spoilers. Holly Black, Cassandra Clare.

So, my friend @sunbell just finished the book as well. She had some reactions of her own. I’ll be commenting on her reactions in bold.

I finished copper gauntlet.

I am very suspicious about Warren and Alex (That's his name right?)(It's a very suspicious name.) It’s because of a friend we have named Alex... I think.

I was dismayed by the Celia kiss. Very brief sentences you have -Yoda

Uh... what else... I still think Call is worrying too much. He needs to get wiser. He’s containing the soul of a killer? And... he’s only what, thirteen? Fourteen?

Also, now I'm sort of disappointed since Call is now equally as important as Aaron. Like, I liked him basically being the main character sidekick. If that makes sense.This is basically a person-to-person version of your book talks. Yes, that’s why I’m stealing your reactions. (I got permission.)

Is it bad I sort of expected that killing Constantine’s body would kill Constantine inside Call? No, I thought that too! I thought that once Constantine’s body was destroyed, that the Constantine in Call would die. That’s why I brought up the idea of him harboring both souls.

Lastly, I like how they said they were going to tell the Assembly everything truthfully, then immediately all lie after. And omit like 99%. Yeah, I know. ><

Book Talk 18.2~ The Copper Gauntlet

Ok, so now I’m on page 212.

Aaron and Tamara FINALLY found out that Callum’s the Enemy of Death. It wasn’t as dramatic or shocking as if could have been. Also, they jumped out of a flying car? ><

So, last I left off, Callum was about to read the letters from Master Joseph to his father. I’m still not clear on Alastair’s intentions... If he brings Call back from the dead, and kicks out Constantine, the current Call... what happens to Call? Ok, that was confusing. What happens to Constantine and what happens to Callum Hunt? I think Constantine would die... but then what about Callum Hunt? I mean, he didn’t exist for a long time. So, will he come back into teenage Call’s body with the intelligence of an infant? I’m confused.

Also, Call is the only one who can understand the creepy chaos-ridden? It was a bit confusing at first. And the head of whatshernameTorres is really freaky. Like... *shivers* no thanks.

I want Jasper to be nice and become his friend. I mean, he’s kind of getting there, right? He doesn’t hate him anymore... at least according to him. And he’s being somewhat civil.

I know this should have been in yesterday’s book post, but I don’t get what the Order of Disorder is trying to do. And that’s a really odd name. The Order of Disorder. Is that supposed to make any sense? ><

Anyways...

Book Talk 18.1~ The Copper Gauntlet

Spoilers, Holly Black, Cassandra Clare.

Ok, now I’m on page 154. Callum brought his friends plus Jasper on his wild dad hunt. I think I stopped at a key point... he found letter correspondence between Alistair and Master Joseph. That’s kind of creepy. Is his dad actually on his side? (His meaning the Enemy.) Or is it old correspondence from when his dad was still friends with Constantine? I’m curious. But of course, I stopped the page before I find out.

Anyhow, the mages want to kill Alistair! At the current moment, I have no idea how to feel about this. Yeah, he’s Callum’s father, and he might be just trying to kill him (I have no idea how I say this lightly) but, he may be somewhat evil! I don’t know.

They are very smart and have released many chaos-ridden animals INCLUDING A BEAR onto the masters of the Magisterium. How...? I realize that they were only trying to free Havoc, but I’m pretty sure that’s a big deal right there...

Ok, so far, in this book series, there’s been so much to talk about (which isn’t normal) that I haven’t gotten around to my opinions on the writing itself. I think overall it’s pretty interesting, but it doesn’t have much... emotion? Like, when intense things happen, it doesn’t really seem intense. It doesn’t pull me into the story. I can put the book down and forget about it for awhile. That’s not a good sign. Otherwise, I think it’s a really interesting story and there’s not much I can criticize about the writing. :)

Anyways...

Book Talk 18.0~ The Copper Gauntlet

Spoilers. Holly Black, Cassandra Clare.

I didn’t have much to do today, so I’ve already read about a third of this book. I’m on page 76.

So his dad tried to kill him?? I guess that makes sense, if he thinks his son is the Enemy of Death, but he’s still his son! Whether it’s his first son or not, this little dude is still his son. And he tried to kill Havoc!

Something bad is happening to Aaron. I don’t think people should just force him to perform chaos magic when he still has very little control over it. And of course, it seems to make him into someone else when he uses it. I have a bad feeling that he’ll become evil at some point and the Enemy of Death will be fighting on the “good” side against Joseph. There’s my wild theory.

(TID SPOILER: This is completely unrelated, but when my mom was reading the TID series after me, she’s say something about “OH, Jem and Will fuse into one person and become Brother Zachariah! Right?” And I would be so bewildered at her theories.)

Maybe... maybe Callum ISN’T the Enemy of Death. Maybe the Enemy’s soul transfusion failed. You NEVER know! Cassandra Clare is known for the extensive use of situational irony and plot twists.

When is Master Rufus going to find out about all of this? I mean, Alistair already tried to tell him. What’s stopping him from trying again? Unless he doesn’t know that his first attempt failed. Well, obviously it did since Rufus didn’t bind his magic.

AT ANY RATE...

One of you will fail. One of you will die. And one of you is already dead.

HOLD UP. NEW THEORY.

If Constantine Madden was described as ‘15’ in TCG, ( when Call saw him in the cave) then it means that Alastair would have been 15 as well when Constantine died.

If Constantine died in battle, as stated in the first book, the war would had started before Constantine was 15 and Alastair and Sarah had a kid at that age?

Since Master Joseph had received the body without a soul which meant the soul was already in Call and the body was 15 then Call’s parents had him wayyyyyyy too young.

Even if the war was ten years long, it won’t make sense because then Constantine would be 5? Besides, the war ends with a treaty which was the same year which Alastair had found Call since the treaty was signed about 12 years ago.

So technically Alastair is 27?

I’m so confused. Or is my memory just making the part about finding Connie as 15 up?
