He’d gotten enough of that for the first ten years of his life; he didn’t need any more. “He’s just got fake memories right now, but he’s my grandfather! I don’t care if he’s calling himself Rush and thinks he’s never had kids, I’m his grandson and no matter what you say, you can’t change that!”

Sunshine In The Spotless Mind || Nick & Everett

Cloverdale. Dr. Nicholas Rush had gone the place for a conference. He wasn’t a huge fan of these get togethers. But his university job required it. Being social and mingling with others was not something Nick did, it took a lot for him to come out of his shell. Some would say he had a cold exterior on, and this was true. It was mostly for protection if anything, keep himself from getting hurt. Despite what most people thought, he was a man with feelings like everyone else, he just chose not to engage like everyone else.

It proved to be a boring day if anything, his ear being talked off about the importance of education and all that jargon. Frankly Rush would rather have his eyes pecked out by buzzards then have to attend another day of that bull shit. He just really needed a stiff drink and fast.

So he went down and got in his elevator making his way down stairs. He really didn’t relish the hotels bar as that would be filled with his colleagues and those were the last people he wanted to speak with right now. He just wanted to go to a bar and drink alone.

So he made his way outside into the night to find the nearest bar. In his hasty exit however he was not paying full attention to where he was going and ran smack dab into someone, knocking them both over. “Just my fucking luck” he grumbled.
