I didn’t think you were right for my son in the beginning, but watching the two of you reminded me of… his mother and I when we were your age. And if you leave Isaac right now, with you two still fighting for your love, you’ll devastate him. I can’t deal with that. He doesn’t know how to deal with that. That’s why you have to survive. I won’t let you die. Not here, not now." And it was the most compassionate the man had probably been in years, but the dying young lady in his arms had awakened something inside of him— something he hadn’t felt since the deaths of eldest his son and wife. And because he had the power to attempt to make change and to save her, he pushed himself to do so.
