This was not somewhere Hope had expected to find the dark Lugia- A remote marsh near the base of a mountain was a far cry from the seas that the great guardian should have called home. But... something is wrong. Keen gold noticed the heavy rise and fall of their chest, the injuries around the great maw that caused it to gape, dripping with a foul looking gunk. Hope recognized after a moment that they were suffering from poison. Did Luugia try to eat one of the poison types that lived here?
The soggy earth squelched beneath her feet as the teen rushed forward. Unshouldering her bag as she stopped in front of the corrupted legend, she was already pulling out a bag of berries and her first aid kit as she started to speak.
"Hey, Lugia. It's Hope- I'm gonna try to help you, okay? You're in pretty rough shape."

Does she do this to everyone? He had to wonder. Spine is unaware of his own weakness, and so assumed this was the result of a powerful legend speaking directly into his mind a little too harshly.
