The Day Magic Died || CA Closed w/ themagehero
A whir of programming script, commands, and data flowing through the screen. As things clear up, the passenger would find a bright light engulfing their vision, before their scenery changed, going back to a moment when the wizard saw just how weak he truly was...
"Haruto, where are you going?! You can't leave like this!"
Weakness.
"H-Haruto-san, Nito's off looking for the Phantom! You don't have to--"
Uselessness.
"Nito might not find it in time!"
Hopelessness.
These were the emotions of Haruto Soma on the day he lost his magic.
Damn it...damn it, it'd happened so fast! With one swift strike, the Phantom Legion had ripped its way into Haruto's Underworld. With one swift strike, it had slain Dragon. With one swift strike, it had left Haruto Soma, a young man whose only true purpose for living being to protect and serve others, powerless.
And yet, even without magic, he had to act. The loss of WizarDragon had taken its tool on Haruto's body. Without a proper source to control and circulate his mana, Haruto's body began to fight against him. His limbs struggled to support him. His head panged with pain at each step he took. But he kept moving forward.
It was the only direction he knew to go. The only path he knew to take. He'd lived his entire life as "the final hope"; as the wizard who could solve everyone's problems, support everyone in their darkest hours, and provide them with hope when they had none. And now, to have that taken from him...he couldn't comprehend it. He didn't want to.
So, he would stubbornly move forward, using a nearby railing to support himself. Ignoring his body's violent requests that he lay and rest, even if for a moment. Perhaps a month.
He was so focused that he didn't even notice the individual nearby, who would perhaps recognize him from a future time...
