Finally.

He wonders if they’ll notice how Tartarus has changed him. He can’t say that he’s proud of the things he did while there, but he had to survive and to do that, he had pushed his limits, had tested himself over and over again.

He lost count of the monsters he slaughtered.

But he was alive, and he was stronger.

He can feel the way the golden ichor of immortals soaked his shirt, from his battles with  Iapetus and Hyperion, his skin covered in the dust from disintegrated monsters who had happily met his blade-- but he doesn’t care because it’s finally over, the doors would be closed and Annabeth would be waiting, and the horrors of the darkness would be over.
