A long time ago, I had an ask with "Are you a loli?". I blocked this person and put on what I don't want people to ask to not call Harley Sawyer a "loli" as I never had someone call a character I wad roleplaying on tumblr a "loli".
Now if you don't know a loli is a trope in anime or anime inspired games. I know tropes are nuance things in fictional but loli trope isn't as nuance due to it being very questionable and pedophilic.
Now you are wondering? Why is it pedophilic?
Loli characters are designed to look like children, in this case little girls. They look like they are toddlers with their proportions.
There is a male version of this trope called Shota which instead of the characters looking like little girls, they look like little boys.
You may have seen those art tropes I hate videos, one of the common things I have seen is loli trope. It is normally called "But she is actually 1,000 or something years old".
This is a very common excuse with loli, this isn't serving a story purpose like a Goddess got turned into a child or a vampire who slowly ages because they were turned as a vampire when they were a little girl.
Loli trope only exists to feel the fantasies of pedophiles. The pedophiles who are fans of this trope are called Lolicons.
Loli characters act like children or talk like children.
Loli characters are normally put in short dresses so these Lolicons can look up their skirt in video games, which very weird due loli characters look like little girls.
Loli characters are also put in sexual situations or in a romantic relationship with an adult and it isn't treated like a bad thing by the narrative because they are an "adult" or a 2,000 years old something dragon/Goddess/elf/vampire or some sort of immortal beings.
This is alternative for pedophiles who can't get their hands on child porn/child sexual abuse material or don't want to use real CP/CSAM due to countries having different laws about real CP/CSAM and fictional CP/CSAM. This is because real CP/CSAM is treated as a crime (and it should be treated as a crime!) While fictional CP/CSAM has its debate on it being fictional.
Side note: I'm both using the terms: Child porn and Child sexual abuse material due to it really depends where you are from calls this crime.
For example, where I'm from we have a crime with porn in its name, that's crime is called revenge porn but this crime might called something else where you are from.
Despite in my personal experience, fictional CP/CSAM has grown into people making AI CP/CSAM due to it "not having any real children harmed" despite we know gen ai needs something to be trained off to generate that type of content and fictional CP/CSAM has led into real children being sexualized.
Even though fictional CSAM/CP should be treated as a crime because it still harms real children same with AI generated CSAM should be seen as a crime too.
For example, I was in tiktok side of fnaf fandom during Security breach time and alot of people sexualizing Gregory (the main character who is a child), this went heavily unnoticed by the fandom. By the time, Fnaf movie came out, people were sexualizing Abby's actress who is a REAL CHILD!
This sexualisation does unfortunately exists today but in the form of Ao3 fnaf movie fanfics. Yes, I know Ao3 has a rule about not posting porn fanfics of real minors but due to Abby being a fictional character, this is a "work around" for pedophiles to still make porn of a real child without their CSAM fanfic getting taken down by ao3 due Abby is played by a REAL CHILD.
Back on topic: Loli characters isn't the first time nor the last time pedophiles have an "alternative" to access contact. Even though many people believe pedophiles only look at real CSAM/CSEM (child sexual exploitation material) but there is unfortunately alternatives including photos/videos of children who are hanging out with their parents/family members hence why people censor babies, toddlers and children faces with emojis or magazine covers of child models that are just wearing children clothing to name a few.
Loli is just one of those tropes that are catered to pedophiles as alternative material.
