Kensey was walking through the park enjoying a beautiful day and the knowledge that her last job would leave her comfortable for a while. She continued walking, watching the people she passed, until she saw the woman sitting on the bench. The look of sadness broke Kensey's heart. In an attempt to change that, she hurried of to a nearby flower shop, ordered a dozen of the most cheerful flowers they had, and, when asked where to deliver them, pointed to the bench where the woman was still sitting.
Ven had just ended things with her on and off boyfriend, this was a dance they had been doing for the last year. They'd break up and then get back together for a few more months, but this time it was permanent. She had walked in on him in bed with another woman. She hadn't even yelled like she thought she might, she just ran from her apartment. She had nothing on her but her phone and wallet, she didn't want to go back to where she had come from. The thought of him in her bed with someone else made her feel sick. The tears had long stopped and she sat cradling her legs on the bench.
The elf was surprised to see the flowers, at first she thought they might be from him. But the person insisted that it was a woman who ordered them. Ven did her best to smile as she accepted them, they didn't do much to lift her mood but it warmed her heart a little.
