From what I can say so far, this AU is placed in a cartoony universe! Instead of Spinel waiting all of the 6000 years, she comes back while a certain someone is still pregnant with our special boy ;)c

How long did Spinel waited for Pink Diamond's return from the original she waited 6000 years so how long did she wait for her?

About 625 years. I imagine it takes a while for gems to incubate, so we’d need maybe 150 years to do that. The Amethysts emerge, and Pearl takes Pink to Earth. We spend another 100 years trying to persuade the Diamonds to leave the Earth alone, but to no avail. So then the Gem War begins (250 years alone at this point). 50 years in, we meet Garnet, and their army begins to grow. The war has been raging for 325 years by now, give or take, so we have +-675 to go before it’s over.

All these numbers can change, but as of right now, this is what I’ve got for you. The war hasn’t been going on for that long, but it didn’t start as soon as Pink left, either.
