In a text post, list ten books that have stayed with you in some way.
Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard — they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you.
Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie
James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl
Oddkins: A Fable for All Ages by Dean Koontz
Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls
Kiss of a Demon King by Kresley Cole
Something About You by Julie James
Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh
The Fallen by Charlie Higson
Imagine: How Creativity Works by Jonah Lehrer
The Courage to Write by Ralph Keyes
Okay, these were really random. Most of these books came to mind because they have associated memories (a bedtime story Mom read to us as kids; one of my favorite teachers reading this particular book during story time; the first time a romance reader came up to me in the bookstore and we started chatting and she recommended this particular book). I also threw in two non-fiction books, because I was starting to struggle. (I recommend #10 to anyone who writes, though.)
To be honest, I'm a one night stand kind of gal with most of my books. :-P I enjoy the reading, there's an awesome afterglow that may or may not last more than a day... and then I'm on to looking for another. >_> (Sometimes I'll come across an old book on my shelf, and only then remember the good times we had, and ...give it another go. ;-) )
I tag bluemoonfireworks, theeverlea, eyrk01, eufry, and voubledision.
