During your daily routine, you pass by a tree. The tree wasn't very noteworthy at first glance, but upon its bark it bore a note tacked into the rough texture. 'ALWAYS WATCHES.' It's an odd threat, if one could call it a threat, scribbled alongside a drawing of a tall, faceless stick figure roughly as big as the pine trees drawn on either side of it.

Grim made it a habit to go outside, mostly to appear as though she were going to work. In reality, she mostly did her job at night. This was to be one such day until she saw the note.

She did not believe she had seen it before. Nor had she seen the tree, now that she thought of it. Despite better judgement, she took the note. Perhaps she could find the source? Or even more?

Minerva’s gigs were a bit different lately. Not spectacularly so; she was still near lower end on the scale of “Which God’s Shows Will Blow Your Mind And Leave You Wanting More”. But there was definitely a notable difference. It mostly had to do with her being angrier. Almost dying, what, three or four times would do that to a person (it was significantly more if you counted Sakhmet’s threats to eat her as “almost dying”).

Everything had been shit lately. So she screamed her frustrations at the crowd in front of her, and they screamed right back. Minerva hadn’t ever really shared the common feeling among the gods about the rush they got when performing. How they felt powerful or adored or alive. She couldn’t deny that she felt something now.

It was still a bad idea. They were at their most vulnerable when they shared their gifts, as Ananke liked to put it. Minerva knew that. She also knew that those creatures of darkness were still prowling around. They’d attacked her in her home twice now and it was getting old. Maybe a flashy show like this would draw one or two out.
