Jack looked at the badge and frowned slightly, “Well then you should have been told to leave it us. We’re here for a reason.”

He hated how the police would do this. There was a reason they told them to piss off. He glanced over at the body before looking at the man, “You should leave. It’s really not your department.”

Danny shakes his head, putting the fake badge back on its clip. It's nothing he hasn't heard before in his time working at the ARC. Working at a secret organization means exactly that: secrets. It's not the hardest thing to figure out, once you start doing it. After awhile, lying about dinosaurs and creatures gets as easy as breathing.

"Badge says it is my department." He quips and taps on it again. "See, as much as I'd like to leave, I can't."

And that's the truth, too. Leaving would mean going home or going to the pub or doing something that wasn't potentially life threatening and dangerous, which is exactly what this is.

"I can read perfectly fine."

The ARC is a secure operation - a secure and secret operation - and the fact of the matter is, they lie. They have to, to keep the anomalies under wrap. That’s what Jenny used to do, keep up public appearances, and now it’s a burden shared throughout the whole ARC. Though there’s no anomaly in sight, the murder today wasn’t done by a human, or some accident.

It was done by a creature.

That much, Danny knows they’ll confirm.

"Seeing as I’m police," He shows off the badge, administered to him by Lester, through whatever bullshit that poor man had to go through to get it. And it’s not that far off - Danny used to be police. "I think we’re fine here."
