Hello Pumpkin Patch!!! It’s once again time to “Ride With Us” here at The Fall Horsemen. A picture from our adventures during Haunt Seasons past.

Every Wednesday we will feature one picture and give a little explanation for it. We also invite whomever is in the picture, was with us during the trip or ANYONE who attended the Haunt at anytime to bring any more illumination to the scene, the scare...to the Haunt itself!!!

Also, if you happen to work at these fine Haunts please chime in!!! We love hearing the stories of those behind the scares. Consider this a place to tell us about your favorite experiences there.

Haunt Season 201?- SCarowinds Opening Weekend

Oh, the sadness Pumpkin Patch!!! This would have been the weekend we started rolling into Haunts. Haunt Season would be in full effect and we would be over the moon about hitting our traditional first Haunt of the season: SCarowinds. This year may have been different in the best of circumstances if other Haunts opened earlier but for us SCarowinds is the first Haunt of the season open for us to hit. So each year we leave early, tailgate in the parking lot and then hit the Haunt hard when it opens. Trying desperately to hit all the Scare Zones and Mazes that we could.

We would be in our more summer wear (though with the weather change around here lately maybe not) but still rocking our beaded necklaces and Haunt gear. You see each year we look forward to that start of Haunt season. The first one. The beginnning. The Alpha. And some years it's not always SCarowinds most of the time it is. So this year we would be wondering how many mazes would be open, what's the best path to take for the night, figuring out if we really wanted to pay for that drink halfway through the night, the location of Cruisin' USA so that Adam could play it and finding that perfect spot right near a Scare Zone and in front of fog machine to watch the people run and smell that delicious fog jiuce (personally it reminds me of maple syrup). Watching kids run away screaming and creatures chase them into the dark, laughing hardily as they reach the horizon of vision still running for their lives. THIS weekend would be the start of the best time of the year for us.

But this year we are without a SCarowinds. We won't have a long car ride full of jokes or laughter. There won't be a tailgate in the parking lot or the Battle Plans of how to hit the Haunts in the proper order. There won't be any quarters dropped into Cruisin' USA. We will have to wait until NEXT year to see all those sights again. We will have to see the screams of scared guests echo in our minds eye only. We will be ok. We won't be happy...but we can make it through. So until we can make it back to the beginning of Haunt Season again we will wait...not-so patiently. We will bind our time until the perfect spot is found once again. Somewhere between the fog and the screams...that's where you will find The Fall Horsemen. Waiting.
