Voltron did something like this…

Shiro was shown marrying a nameless guy for two seconds in the very last episode. We don’t know anything about the character, and there was no shown development between the two whatsoever;

and the main Voltron Squad (who were pretty much a found family - like Team RWBY), were shown in a time skip to only see each other once per year, and all went their separate ways with their lives.

PLUS, Allura, a major character (and one of my favorite characters in the series btw) died an unnecessary death, and no one’s favorite ships became canon (except A//llurance, but then Allura died).

Most Voltron fans were not happy with the finale…
