An Asian Theologian once said one of the things that separates Christianity from other religions is wrapped up in that beautiful word called "FORGIVENESS" I necessarily don't see Christianity as a religion but as a way of life.. A ChristLike Kind of life, and Christ led a forgiving kinda life. . . In Matthew 18:22 precisely when Peter asked Jesus the golden question. "How many times should I forgive" . . Jesus answered him and said not seven times but seventy times seven times. Jesus gave that answer because no one would necessarily write or start counting the number of times they've forgiven someone or no one would offend someone that many times, If someone is offended or done something grave to you that many times that's not offence anymore it's become abuse which if you are in such situation please leave, that's a lot of topic on its own. . . We live in a do me I do you world. A tit for tat kind of world. Why? The world doesn't understand the concept of forgiveness because behind every act of forgiveness lies the wound of betrayal. However there is far more damaging consequences socially, emotionally and physically, when we don't forgive. . . Forgiveness is a command! . . I personally think the greatest gift to Mankind was the gift of the Holy Spirit. In the early church disciples were greatly persecuted, most of them died under the most horrific circumstances. . . They didn't moan or stop preaching the word instead the church of grew enormously despite the terrible persecution of the early church. Do you know why the church grew even in the face of persecution... Because they had the gift... The power of forgiveness, they were driven by the most Important commandment LOVE! plus They had the greatest gift, The gift of the Holy Spirit. . . The Spirit in turn gives them the power to ultimately forgive. Hence Forgiveness is a beautiful which Abba has bestowed on us. How well are you using this gift? . . . Exercise for the day.
