The FullMoon Party, Koh Phangang
I arrived on the Island of Koh Phangang during the weekend before the FullMoon and soon realised all was quiet on the party island. While the taxi that turned out to be a scooter and eventful ride and tour guide took me to the Hard road hostel. Everywhere was deserted and upon my arrival I again randomly bumped into Alfie.
Who'd been here for a few days already, to attend the half moon party with the girls, who'd I'd just missed by a few hours. Alfie himself was supposed to have left but ended up sleeping in. Instead he checked out after dinner and jumped on the afternoon ferry to go and spend the weekend in Koh Samui before coming back to the party. It was a very brief catch up as he was still nursing a hang over after going hard all week partying each and every night. As I later learned off the hostel staff that there was usually always something going on in the run up to the big parties.
That weekend I decided to hire a scooter and go and explore the Island and as cool as it was to do, I realised Koh Phangang was like the Pisa of Italy. Once you've seen the tower/experienced the parties, what else is there to do? Anyways As Monday rolled around, the place started to pick up and I decided to change hostels and go a bit further down to Had Rin but after finding out everywhere was near enough booked, I got in at Echo Beach and met a few cool people from Belgium and even some funny enough from my home town of Warrington, cheshire (Its a small world). On the night before the FullMoon, a few of us went to attend the Jungle party which was, well lets just say it was a wild fucking night and I could not remember shit!
We spend Wednesday morning on the beach recovering and by 6pm that evening we were back on it and ready to howl into the night. Now I'm not the party type, by any means, sure every now and again with friends who doesn't and on the big occasions and tonight was definitley one of those times! We necked buckets and bounced on the beach to the beats until the break of dawn. Plus there was the odd laughing gas balloon and slice of pizza for breakfast. I don't know how but again I bumped into Irish, Alfie and Neil and Keira through the night. To be honest I can't remember the rest, but it was a great night nonetheless. I awoke at dinner and by three I was on the ferry after I got chatting to Pip on Facebook, who was now on Koh Lanta, after telling her about my time on the Island. And how I didn't fancy spending the last 5 days in Bangkok before going home, so she said to come out and join up with her back on Phi Phi and so I did later that night.
