It was entirely intentional that Cedric had left any sort of detailing in his prior letter informing the other sorcerer of his coming visitation. It was more for formality - habits that he had never used but were taught to him many years ago. He had toiled with the thought of going to Rudistan under the ruling of his pilgrimage but he felt that this was needed. It wasn’t the first stop on his quest nor would it be his last. Still - he needed this. A familiar face amongst a gaggle of strangers who were of no assistance to him - and Greylock was the only person he could see.
There was no royal greeting - it wasn’t as if this were a visitation of diplomacy. Cedric had often wondered just how often it was the other royal sorcerers would mingle amongst each other away from the mundane social offerings the monarchs provided for them. He knew that whenever a neighboring sorcerer actually needed to discuss legalities or business or other boring dribble there was usually an actual...something that went with it. All he could hope was that Greylock would respect his wish for quiet and privacy...for once.
Standing at the door of the other’s workshop, Cedric would keep his hood pulled up over him as he weakly rapped upon the door. It was well after sundown by this point but it shouldn’t be too late for the other to have gone to sleep already. Besides, it was during the night that their kind could actually tend to themselves rather than their employers.
