In memory of Jean Paul Beahm aka Darby Crash, American punk rock singer, songwriter and co-founder of the punk rock band The Germs, who died on this day in 1980 of an overdose heroin.

Recent photo of this classic Shepard Fairey mural in Echo Park, paying tribute to Darby Crash of the Germs.

The mural—based on a 1980 photo by Gary Leonard—was created in 2009, tagged up within 24 hours of its completion, covered up by Leonard for seven years and finally restored in 2016.
