Today we cycled up to the moutain top village of Rochetailée above St. Étienne. It was a gruelling steep cycle ( and walk ) but we were rewarded with an early medieval mountain village and Castle remains dating back before 1100ad. Happy Halloween! Mathilde and I cycled about 15km up a mountain today. We walked through forests, cycled alomg rocky paths and through piles of leaves, climbed stone carved stairs and explored dams and aquaducts! It looks so beautiful here. While unpacking I binned some bubblewrap and luckily heard a little rattle! I almost threw out these absolutely tiiiiny miniatures of Tank Girl, Booga and Camp Koala which were made years ago to raise money for a Cancer charity fundraiser ( 2013 I think? ) . The Sd.KFZ 251 halftrack is only 8 cm! These figures are sooo small! Just setting up my desk in the new studio ( still awaiting an electrician for power....but hey...I can dream haha ) I hung some inspirational art above my desk, a Victor De La Fuente painting from Battle Picture Library in 1965, a tiny skull drawing by @gipigianni ( who's work I adore ) and a painting by Allesandro Biffignandi for War Picture Library.
