Do you ever just... weeb out? Bought a bunch of manga over the last two months to even out the comics. #spyxfamily is still a great thing to keep up with and I'm getting the volumes too. Only getting #thegodslie because it's by Kaori Ozaki, otherwise the low-key edgy name would turn me off it. #nogunslife because I couldn't think of anything else and just... accumulated 5 volumes over time. The three or so episodes of the anime I watched weren't even that good, and they're an IMPROVEMENT over the manga, which loves its shadows way too much and hates being easily readable. Doble post porque me acordé de esto. Leí recién "The God's Lie" y pensé que sería como la típica historia de "Nos enamoramos y tomamos caminos separados porque eso es crecer" y, aunque sí lo es, se sale también al hablar de temas como el abandono infantil y la inocencia. I don't usually get that choking feeling when I'm reading comics, I mean sure I get teary eyed when I'm ready a sad moment or something but man this book is loaded with feel train. The story revolves around a boy who play hookey and spends days at a classmates rickety house and a secret that might destroy everything they hold so dear. It's a very short story but I dunno it hit me right there. I highly recommend it. #thegodslie #kaoriozaki #manga

The God’s Lie, mangá de Kaori Ozaki. ****

Meus gêneros favoritos de mangá são os para adultos, Seinen e Josei. The God’s Lie é mais Josei (voltado para o público feminino japonês), embora os personagens sejam jovens como é mais comum em Shoujos. Além disso, a história em um único volume é coming-of-age, ou seja, uma trama sobre o despertar para as coisas sérias da vida, que é um tema dos que mais amo.

O protagonista é Natsuru, de 11 anos, um jovem órfão de pai e que sonha em ser jogador de futebol. Seu caminho cruza o de Rio, sua esquisita colega de escola, e o menino logo descobre que esta guarda um segredo e decide ajudá-la. A dupla (e o irmão caçula de Rio) embarca em uma aventura que os força a amadurecer.

O traço delicado de Ozaki ajuda a suavizar um tema que poderia ser abordado de forma bem mais sombria, e essa leveza dita o tom da narrativa. É bastante sério, mas não precisa ser pesado. O único pesar é se tratar de uma história curta e que, portanto, tem uma resolução apressada.
