That’s 80s Lance’s name, but for VLD, they purposely haven’t told us his surname. It’s actually just a fanon name for this iteration of Lance as of right now. The same with Keith’s surname being Kogane, and Hunk’s being Garrett. None of them have confirmed last names. 

(the list of characters that do is small: Takashi Shirogane, Katie Holt, Matthew Holt, Samuel Holt, Colleen Holt, James Griffin, Nadia Rizavi (of all the names they gave us, they gave us two Nadias), Ryan Kinkade, Ina Leifsdottir, M Iverson is probably Mitch Iverson after one of the show writers, and, of course, Coran Hieronymus Wimbleton Smythe. 

Given that they’ve doubled down on the fact that Lance is Cuban, and according to the new handbook, Hunk is African-American and Samoan, they probably gave them more culturally appropriate surnames (or at least I hope they did).

FUCK CANON FANON PIDGE IN THIS IS TOO PURE AND TOO BEAUTIFUL AND I KNOW SHE LOVES HER FRIENDS DEEP DOWN WITH BOTH CANON AND FANON BUT I LOVE THIS OPENLY EXPRESSED PART OF HER 😭😭😭😭

hahaha oh gosh.  I mean, I know the show tried to show the ties, but I think the amount of major characters and plot lines became overwhelming for them, which is why so many relationships went untouched or forgotten and why so many plotlines were left unanswered? Like, I know they wanted to show the ties between the Garrison trio especially with Lance and Hunk jumping to defend Pidge when Zethrid said they all had a soft spot for “the small one” but yeah.... 

In visual stuff like movies and cartoons and shows, it can be tough to balance out stuff when you have so many major characters. For example, Marvel did a good job at giving everyone their moment of spotlight in Civil War and Infinity War, but I think my uncle said Justice League was kind of everywhere, which lost a lot of viewers. I think that was also Voltron’s downfall. Which is why we were getting so much of the MFEs in s7 then they kind of faded in s8 and why the friendships that could have bloomed between the paladins were also sort of lost? At least between certain characters. I know I was super confused when Keith left and Pidge said she’d miss him because I was like.... I don’t think... I’ve ever seen them interact???? lmfao 

but yeah! Sorry, I like analyzing movies and shows and stuff, so this response got away from me.... 

but yes Pidge loving her friends is what I am HERE FOR

roland is up to something and idk what... maybe he feels guilty, maybe he really did like keith and didn't accept himself, so seeing him with another guy, I guess makes him regretful and guilty on what he missed out on

YAY! I wanted something new but still meaningful. I was thinking the Robinsons first but there’s no stuffed animals for it and I’d used that one in another story, so I tapped into my own feels lol.
