thegreatestdragon said: I just always feel the urge to run away and drive home. But I figured most of the symptoms on the post were with that extra anxiety (bc it’ll really mess you up) but with self diagnosis culture on Tumblr I worry that ppl will read posts like that -
thegreatestdragon said: - and be like “I have it!” And it’s great for ppl that actually do, but it can be hard for ppl that do get nervous and anxious but without the extremes Social Anxiety gives them.
i don’t really have a formed opinion on self diagnosis culture, but it’s something that i’m personally not that comfortable in doing myself.
like, i see a lot of posts on adhd that i relate to a lot, but i don’t feel right going around saying that i have adhd. the posts are however making me consider look for psychiatric help.
(and i’d like to point out that i’m just talking about myself, and i understand why one might self-diagnose and if that’s something that’s helped a person then that’s great.)
thegreatestdragon replied to your post: and while we’re on the subject, my anxiety levels...
I’m supposed to be traveling in December and I’m already dreading it. Planes are honestly the worst.
it’s funny because i don’t generally have a height problem. i love roller coasters, i did abseiling down a cliff once like it was no big deal, but planes are just the fucking worst lmao. especially the lifting up and the landing.
thegreatestdragon and it’s not necessarily “oh no i’m holding everyone up because i can’t find my card” it’s that plus overreacting and feeling like a piece of shit for the rest of the day because you caused a minor inconvenience.
obviously people’s anxiety symptoms vary and shit but for me personally it’s definitely about taking things i know aren’t that big a deal and feeling way too deeply about them, and becoming panicked and feeling bad because of that.
Yeah those are the type of arguments I see the most… like “are they q*eer enough” or “do they have ‘straight passing privilege’” etc. I guess that’s what it comes down to. I’m so tired of people policing definitions and what does and doesn’t constitute as “q*eerness”… Also, you can still pose good questions and be critical without the biphobic or acephobic commentary - like, come on man. I’m not going to get into details on what I think of either orientation because I don’t want to be involved in this whole argument tbh.
thegreatestdragon replied to your post “my sister is personally offended by the fact that the Merlin fandom on...”
I feel like Merlin wouldn't be in a house at all. He'd just be all "We must unite! When will the fighting end!!!" And everyone would be like "Merlin, chill, it's just for fun" And he'd be all "I BELONG TO THE HOUSE OF PENDRAGON"
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
i just laughed a lot harder than is probably reasonable. i want fanart of this.
thegreatestdragon replied to your post “has anyone else seen The Point?”
I haven't seen it but now I want to.
Good god, it is so fucking bizarre. There’s this whole city full of people with pointy heads, and everything in his city has a point, and then there’s this kid born who doesn’t have a point. He has a round head (and he’s white while everyone else is like red, cuz this does the weird anime thing where the important people are different colors than everyone else) and it makes everyone else so uncomfortable. He gets banished from the town because it’s apparently illegal to not have a point, so he and his dog go on a journey to the Pointless Forest. And there’s lots of really weird shit and trippiness and musical numbers with bizarre fucking animated montages that make no sense, and this kid has some existential crisis about whether or not things have a point in the figurative sense as much as the literal sense.
It’s fucked up man. I don’t even know. I bet it’s supposed to be affirmative and convince kids that everyone is worthwhile and shit, but it pretty much had me drowning in nihilism halfway through.
thegreatestdragon replied to your post: There’s a post in the welcome to night...
Carlos can’t be a Mary Sue though…like, we never get him in the story? And it’s all from Cecil’s perspective? And like Cecil thinks he’s perfect but that’s obvs all Cecil? I don’t get it. (Also Strex was amazing)
Exactly. And the entire point of the Carlos/Cecil story so far is that Carlos is not perfect, and that they work on their relationship together...
