The Hesitant Visitor | Dínellon & Glorfindel
The events of the past days had been overwhelming to the small ellon. So overwhelming in fact, that he had shut himself completely from the outside world for a few days just to think of all what had happened and what consequences he might have to face in the far future. He had, of course, taken care of his duties, but other than that he had not even left his room.
However at all times there had been this tiny little voice in his head telling him, reminding him of how he just a few days ago shared a few of his secrets with one of Lord Elrond's most trusted men. Glorfindel had listened to him, offered him wise words and most importantly, opened a door to him that he thought would forever be locked to him. A door that lead to possible friendship - and even after hearing what he had done!
Then Lord Elrond had come in and given Dínellon the chance to do what he did best: avoid stressful situation by escaping. At the time it had seemed like a good idea and - well - judging how Lord Elrond had looked, Dínellon was sure he had made the right choice by letting the two ellyn start with their work as soon as possible so both of them could end the day. However now he did feel a little bad for leaving so suddenly.
He had spent a day thinking if he should go to see Glorfindel or not. The captain had clearly said that he would not mind talking to Dínellon in the future but it was in the servant's nature to doubt such words. He did not mean to be mistrustful nor did he mean to doubt that Glorfindel had spoken the truth, but he just couldn't help but to think that in a situation like that others were more likely to offer a helping hand out of the feeling that it was their responsibility. And Dínellon most certainly did not want to be a strain or a duty to anyone. But then again would it be impolite not to go to him now that he had been so generously offered the chance?
These were the many thoughts that ran in his mind during the next few days after getting out of his room again. He visited Glorfindel's door many times and was just about to knock, until he decided against it and left the scene as quickly as possible. Such was the case now too. He was standing right in front of the big wooden door, lifted his hand...and then took a step back. Maybe...maybe some other time.
