When establishing Shangri-La in 2018 it was our goal to create a special place for our tenants. So we put a lot of thinking, planning and love into this project, hoping that our tenants will enjoy their stay.
Our motto is We are not just looking for tenants, we are looking for friends, so we are trying not only to offer a place to stay, but also to help, support and provide fun tips to make the time in Shangri-La perfect.
With Shanna, Reuben and Akiva we found the perfect first tenants (do you realise their names are even to be found inside the name of our place Shangri-La - what a perfect coincidence!! And look what little Akiva is wearing - a perfect fit, isn’t it?!
Below you can read what they have to say about their time in Shangri-La (Thank you so much for those kind words, Shanna, Reuben & Akiva!)
Shangri-La Munich will always have a special place in our hearts—and not just because it was our son Akiva’s first home!
What’s to love about SLM?
First, there is its idyllic and charming neighborhood, which makes big, busy Munich feel quaint and cozy. We filled our days by enjoying delicious meals at Lucullus or Giesinger Garten, stocking our kitchen with fresh local fare at the Thursday farmers’ market, taking morning coffee and franzbrötchen while chatting with neighbors at Sommer café, and taking quiet strolls to the Isar (stopping in the Rose Garden on the way back, of course). How amazing that all of these things are just a short walk away.
The second reason to love Shangri-La is the place itself. It is abundantly stocked—we had everything we could possibly need for a plentiful day-to-day existence. Its clean and elegant style gave us the feeling of tranquility. And it should go without saying that it is a real treasure to have your own private garden smack dab in the middle of the city. It’s a house that really feels like a home.
The last reason to love Shangri-La is its owners! Daniela and Emre are exceptional in their joyfulness and generosity. And they genuinely care about the well-being of both their space and their tenants—very rare virtues in the rental world!
We consider ourselves so fortune to have found Shangi-La and thus to have gotten the chance to know them.

Sometimes, you just want to get away from everything and everyone that's stressing you. You just leave and stop wherever your feet take you. #kolboy #thehiddengarden #ilocossur #wheninilocos #experienceilocos #ilocossur (at Hidden Garden, Ilocos Sur)
