After a wild year and a lot of changes, The Hallyu Writers Network is once again accepting applications! We are looking to bring together writers of all things hallyu (dramas, music, etc). If you are looking for somewhere to meet fellow writers, receive help, be challenged, and have fun, then you have come to the right place!

Offer writers a community of others to befriend, find support in, and have fun writing with!

Provide writers with resources of all kinds to assist in the writing process.

It's been a long time coming, but we're here now! And we are ready to kick things back into high gear. The time we've been away has been chaotic, but things seem to be settling back down, and there has scarcely been a better time to bring our little family together again.
In the spirit of renewal and a new time of year fast approaching, we will be re-launching the network! What this means is we will be working on updating the look of the network, namely our graphics and theme layout, and hope to have that done by next week, on 8/28. Everything else should stay the same as before, but we wanted to breathe some life into the network by changing things up a bit.
At this time, we would also like to make sure our member lists are updated. As there are quite a number of you, sending messages to individuals to check-in is not quite feasible for just the two of us, so we will be asking that you please like this post and send us a message by 11:59pm PDT on August 28, 2017, if you are still interested in being part of this network. We will make sure you are still on the member page, or added if you haven't been for whatever reason.
(Note: If you are someone who does not have their Tumblr listed and has joined by giving us only your AO3 account please let us know who you are in your message or contact us off-Tumblr for the check-in!)
If you choose not to remain part of the network, whatever your reason may be (and you are not obligated in any way to tell us), we will not delete any works of yours that have already been reblogged here, but we will not continue to promote your work in the future. Members who choose to leave during this time will be presented with an option to be grandfathered in (i.e. not have to wait for applications to reopen) if they decide to return at a later date!
ALSO, we will be announcing a fun little event in the very near future, to help us all get back in the spirit of writing and community! This event will be an informal chance to flex our creative muscles and encourage regular writing. It will also be the first time we host an event that is not exclusive to members of the network! There will be more details to come, but if you have friends who aren't part of the network, feel free to spread the word to them as well, and encourage them to check back here for more info on how to join in the fun!

Sorry this is such a long announcement everyone, but we are really excited to be back, and wanted to make sure you are as in the loop as possible on everything we're planning. It's important to us that we communicate with you as clearly as possible, in the interest of full transparency.

You are only actually writing one prompt. The reason we are having you pick three is just in case your top choice has been picked before you’re able to submit your choices! It’s time for the Hallyu Writers Net’s Winter Prompt Challenge! Lets celebrate the winter and holiday season the right way - with wonderful fanfiction of the talented writers of the HWN! We’re super excited to see what the HWN members create, but lets go over the rules and details first:
❅ This is for members of the HWN only. No specific group or fandom is required, as this challenge is for all things hallyu, but you must be a current member for your work to be counted. As always, both x reader and x member are allowed.
❅ This is not a fic exchange. You are not required to write a fic for someone else, however you are more than welcome to dedicate or gift a fic to someone.
❅ Members choose three (3) prompts from a masterlist of winter-themed prompts and send them directly to the HWN in order of preference/priority. We’ll let you know which one is available for you to claim! Prompts are determined by availability. The masterlist will be updated to reflect availability.

Hello my dear ones! I’m Cat, and I’m the old lady around these admin parts and likely the mother among us as well. ;) You might know me on tumblr as markmywordswithsong (writing) or runkairun (personal) or from my AO3 or AFF accounts (someday I plan to streamline my writing aliases, but you know, priorities and things). Ah, let’s see - I primarily write for GOT7 (mostly meaning Mark. Because he has ruined my life.) and BTS at the moment, but I’ve dabbled in EXO, KHH , and I’ve got plans/am working on things for groups including NCT, Seventeen, Pentagon, Astro, and Monsta X. Are you starting to see why I head up our Uncommon/Underrated Groups section? ^.^ As for the woman behind the writer: I am happily married, live in Canada, and have an adorable miniature Dachshund. In addition to writing I enjoy reading, singing, and failing at dancing. I write for BTS and Mamamoo, though I’ve written drabbles for Got7, 2NE1, BigBang, and Vixx. I’m a writer of dark things - angst, violence, horror/psychological thriller, and dark scifi/fantasy - with a dash of feelsy, raunchy smut and awkward fluff. I’m sarcastic to a fault, and carry a talent for self-depreciation that makes MCR look like a pep squad. When I’m not waxing poetic on existential crises, I write about the kpop/khh folks who have ruined my life, most notably BTS, AOMG, GOT7, and some others in the works.
