Sweet Monster - Part One
It didn’t take long for Tyler to understand the predictable rhythm of life at Willow Hill; the facility was strict about its schedules, which made it easy for him to follow. Breakfast was promptly served at dawn, soupy porridge tossed through the door, lucky if half didn’t spill onto the floor. Lunch followed at midday, typically a stale roll with either thin ham or chicken slices. Dinner arrived as the sun dipped below the horizon, often soup or some type of unrecognisable textured substance. The therapist would visit every Tuesday morning, his voice grating only making Tyler more frustrated and annoyed when he failed to listen to even the simplest of things. But it was Y/n’s visits on Thursdays that became the highlight of his week.
Initially, Tyler resisted her presence with every fibre of his being, his disappointment often manifesting as silence and sharp remarks. Frustration bubbled beneath the surface; he felt shrouded in a haze of helplessness that he didn’t want to share. Yet, with each passing week, he found himself growing accustomed to her unwavering aid. She genuinely wanted to help, even in moments when his stubbornness barred him from fully embracing it.
As weeks turned into months, and months into over a full year, Y/n remained a constant in his life at Willow Hill. Each Thursday, no matter the weather or how he felt, she would arrive, her presence like a breath of fresh air amidst the sterile environment. With her, she brought an array of small treasures, each meticulously checked by the hospital staff. Sometimes it would be warm cookies, their sweet aroma wafting through the air, or bags of freshly baked muffins, still dusted with powdered sugar. Other times, she’d come bearing stacks of brightly illustrated books or art supplies—paints, sketchpads, and colourful markers.
Tyler had grown used to this routine, so much so that on Thursday mornings, the staff no longer needed to drag him out of bed. Instead, he would rise early, anticipation thrumming in his chest as he made his way to the wall where he knew he’d be restrained for the duration of her visit. Standing there, he accepted the chains with quiet resignation, finding solace in the fact that he would soon see Y/n.
“Your favourite visitor is back,” the guard laughed as he finished with the chains.
“She’s my only visitor.” Tyler corrected,
“You'd best enjoy her then.” He chuckled, playfully slapping Tyler’s cheek before going to the door,
As the heavy door swung open, a familiar figure stepped into the dim light of the room. There she stood again, a small silhouette against the stone walls. She shuffled in, her little boots caked with mud, evidence of the early morning rain that had fallen relentlessly. Clad in snug brown leggings that hugged her legs comfortably, she wore a knee-length sage green dress. The fabric swayed gently around her as she moved, adorned with delicate wooden buttons that ran down the front. Over her dress, she pulled on a soft, brown fuzzy jumper, intricately embroidered with twisting green ivy leaves. Her hair, secured with her crocheted ivy hair ties, tiny vines that perfectly matched the embroidery on her jumper. The air was thick with the scent of damp earth, mingling with a faint hint of the wildflowers she often traipsed through, contrasting sharply with the cold stone confines of their surroundings.
She smiled and waved, fixing her bag on her shoulder, “Hey,”
“Hey,” he choked back a smile,
“How do you feel?” She asked as she came closer, the door slamming shut behind her still making her flinch.
“The same,” he sighed, “Nothing to report.”
“Well, no news is good news?”
“I guess so, Y/n.” He nodded, “How’s things… outside this place?”
“Much the same,” she nodded, “Nothing changes in town.”
“Nothing, changes in here,” he corrected, “Nothing at all, not even breakfast.”
“Well… atleast you're not missing much,” she shrugged, “in here or out there,”
“I suppose so,” He faintly smiled,
“Sorry… for not having much to tell you,”
“You don’t need to apologise. Just you visiting is more than enough, even if you have nothing to tell me.”
She blushed and smiled widely, “You’re too sweet to me.”
“Hardly much point in being mean to you,” he joked,
She chuckled and nodded, “Oh, I brought something for you.”
“You did?” he asked, trying to act surprised, but he knew she always brought him something.
“Of course,” she smiled, “I made something for you.” She opened up her bag and pulled something out, keeping it behind her back.
“Am I allowed to see it?” he chuckled,
“You must close your eyes,” she told him,
“I’m already lacking my ability to move, and the ability to say and do whatever I want,” he groaned, “Do I really have to lose my sight too?”
“Please, Tyler?”
“Fine,” he sighed, and closed his eyes tightly.
Slowly, she stepped closer and pulled the item from behind her, “Tada!”
As Tyler slowly opened his eyes, he felt a jolt of surprise upon seeing the plush toy directly in front of him. It was an endearing, round crocheted frog, a vibrant shade of green that seemed to glow. The frog sported a wide, inviting smile, with two shiny button eyes that sparkled playfully. Clinging to its back was an adorable flower-shaped backpack.
Once the initial shock faded, a warm wave of comfort washed over him, enveloping him like a cosy blanket. He felt an immediate connection with this quirky little creature, sensing a sweet, protective vibe emanating from its plush form. He couldn't help but smile back at the frog, captivated by its unique personality and undeniable cuteness. In that moment, Tyler knew he had found a delightful companion in this unusual, yet strangely affectionate, crocheted friend.
“Awww…” he cooed, “That’s cute.”
“I made him for you,” she smiled, “so he can keep you company when I’m not around.”
“You… you made it for me?” he almost choked, to think Y/n cared so much about him, so much about how lonely he felt that she took the time and effort to make him this chubby little frog. As she nodded, Tyler forced back a joyful tear. “T-thank you, Y/n.”
“You’re welcome,” she smiled,
“Can… can I feel how soft he is?” he asked,
“Of course,” she chuckled, moving closer and rubbing the frog’s arm against his cheek,
He almost moaned; the soft yawn against his skin felt heavenly. It had been so long since he’d felt something so nice, even just the movement was calming after so long of being shoved and pushed by guards. The soft, flowery scent on the frog that matched how y/n had always smelled. A tear fell against his cheek, “Thank you, Y/n, truly… thank you so so much.”
She smiled widely and used the frog’s little hand to wipe Tyler’s tear. “You’re very welcome,” she cooed, “Even monsters deserve something sweet to cuddle.”
Before Tyler could say another word, the door opened. “Time,” the guard called out,
Immediately, Tyler felt disappointed, not wanting Y/n to leave, but he knew not to fight them.
Y/n handed him the frog and slowly walked to the door with the guard, “I’ll see you next week,” she waved.
“Yeah, next week,” he nodded.
“Bye, Tyler,”
“Bye Y/n…” He sighed,
Once she was gone and the door locked up, the chains released him. He immediately went to his bed, sitting down and looking at the chubby frog’s smile. He felt so warm and happy he hugged it tight, inhaling the soft scent of Y/n, before he lay down on his bed letting his tears fall softly against the pillow.

Wednesday was covered in blood and mud, Évangéline had found herself in a similar situation. Her fall had been broken by a stray shard of metal, from the sword. The wound was on her waist, every time she moved the pain increased.
She could only focus of the blood on her hands. How bad was the wound? The cock of a gun brought her out of a trance. "You brought a gun to a sword fight." It was Thornhill. "It's probably the first smart decision you've made today."
"I might not get to kill all the outcasts," Thornhill staggered closer to Wednesday. "but at least I'll get to kill you, Wednesday." Évangéline was too far away to see why her previous teacher had stopped. That was until there was a buzzing sound. Getting louder, and louder. The amount of bees increased, all swarming Thornhill.
She began shooting and covering her head, not knowing what to do. "Yeah, that's what you get for messing with Nevermore." It was Wednesdays friend, Eugene. "Hummers stick together, right?"
The bees were imbedding themselves into the woman on the floor. Then, Wednesday ended it all.
All Nevermore pupils and teachers were outside the gates, all wanting the truth for what was happening. Then, Yoko noticed someone walking. It was a small blonde girl, shivering covering in mud and blood.
"Enid?" The soft voice of Ajax worried, seeing she was only in a coat. Leading her through the heels of students, she couldn't see two people. "Where's Wednesday? Where's Évangéline?" Everyone just looked at each other, not knowing what happened with the two girls.
Her worrying was cut short as she saw four people walking towards the gates, although one was slightly limping. They had all ran up to the four, seeing it was Wednesday, Évangéline, Eugene and Bianca. The two girls overwhelmed in emotions were shortly pushed into a hug with an equally emotional Enid.
It was cut slightly short, as Wednesday had leaned backwards, but shortly gave in as she saw Enid's face. Slowly, Évangéline made her way out of the hug, leaving Enid to have the hug she had wanted for months.
Tears were in her eyes, blood had made its way onto her face from her hands and small cuts and mud caked the majority of her skin. Looking at the group of people she was well associated with, she saw Xavier. The boy had staggered towards the girl, not knowing what to do, not knowing how she felt.
She cut his worries short by grasping his face and gave him what they both had yearned for. A kiss. It was finally happening, something that had became so unimaginable by the two. Not thinking they would ever see each other again.
Leaning her face into Xavier's shoulder, he noticed the metal sticking out of the side of her back. "Angel," he whispered, almost like she was about to break into pieces.
"I know," she sighed, holding on tighter.
Students were sent home early for the rest of the semester. After everything from the past night and earlier months, the remaining teachers decided to let the kids have a break. Évangéline had gotten her wound fixed, with it needing a few stitches, and was currently packing her room.
The trio had gone to their deceased principals office, paying their respects. "I hate to admit, but I am gonna miss Principal Weems." The pink one spoke first.
"She could be a real pain." The black one complained. "But she was tough. For that, I have immense respect."
"And she died for the one thing she truly loved, this school." The brown one finished.
"She was one of us." All three girls left.
"Now that classes are cancelled for the rest of the semester, you two have to come visit me in San Francisco." Enid demanded to her two friends. "I can pretty much guarantee fog and drizzle every day for you, Wednesday. And Evan, I'll be there for you to complain to."
"Sounds tempting." Wednesday agreed.
"Only if you two come to France, we can go to all the cute little cafés." Évangéline smiled, seeing the look from her friend, "Don't worry, Nes, there's dark things in Paris. Oh! Like the bell towers of Notre Dame." This brought a composed smile on Wednesdays face, the nickname was back.
"Bianca." Wednesday stopped the girl who helped a lot yesterday, "I owe you a thank you."
"We're getting that fencing title next year. So don't let killing one supernatural pilgrim get to your head." Bianca joked, leaving with a smile towards Évangéline.
"Oh, and Nes." Évangéline turned, only to be met with no Wednesday. Not even Enid. "What the hell," she whispered.
"You look a little lost." A taunting voice came from over head. Already knowing who it was, she held a smile.
"Don't you have anything better to do than watch girls?" Évangéline joked, making her way up the small starecase.
"Only the pretty ones." He lowered his voice, only wanting Évangéline to listen.
"Who are these pretty girls you've been looking at, then?" She wrapped arms around Xavier's neck, holding him close and it felt natural.
"I don't know if you know her." Repeating her actions, but on her waist, being cautious of the stitching. "She has brown hair, with little pink streaks. The most enchanting eyes I've ever seen. She's incredibly brave and even after falling out with someone, she still helped her."
This caused an uncontrollable smile to appear of Évangéline's face, "Stop it," she spoke into his shoulder, hiding her smile. It was a nice silence for a few seconds. No worries clouded their minds, they felt content in the moment and didn't care if their fellow students were watching.
"How are your stitches?" He stroked just above the fresh wound, showing his affection.
"Could be better. How are you feeling about being a free man?" She brought her head up.
"All charges dismissed." He smiled, replicating what Évangéline was doing. "I'm sorry to cut this short, but I need to find Wednesday and thank her for the arrow and to apologise for things I said." At the sound of an arrow, she gave a confused face, "I'll explain later. Have a good break, I'll see you around?" He gave a hopeful glance.
"Of course." She waved him off. "Have a good break."
After saying goodbye to her friends she met up with her father, belongings already in the car. "You ready to go, Evie?" He asked, but before she could answer, her phone went off. Looking at the message, it was pictures of her and Xavier and her and Wednesday.
She looked up, hiding the scared look, "Yeah, I'm ready."

The following weeks were an agonising struggle for Tyler. During the first week, he was on edge, snapping at his therapist with a bitterness that shocked them. His eyes were always darting around, and he clenched his fists as if ready to fight anyone who dared to approach him. Each time a guard came near, he threatened them with heated words, his voice low and menacing, reflecting the deep-seated anger and fear he grappled with. The sterile environment of the facility felt suffocating, amplifying his sense of isolation and despair. The slightest provocation could send him into a frenzy, as evidenced by the way he lunged at the delivery person the moment his food was placed before him. The anticipation of Thursday always filled him with a mix of excitement and dread, but this week was different—Y/n never arrived.
A sense of panic gripped him, his heart racing and his fury bubbling just beneath the surface. The absence of his beloved sweet little fairy left him feeling utterly desolate, as if a crucial piece of his world had been snatched away. He longed for her comforting presence, for the gentle way she brought light into his otherwise chaotic existence. Yet deep down, he understood it wasn’t her fault; a realisation that they had taken her from him, and that thought consumed him with heartbreak. The following week was a harrowing experience for him; his fury simmered just beneath the surface, erupting like a volcano at the slightest provocation. He lashed out at anyone who dared to speak to him, their mere presence igniting a fiery rage that left them bewildered and hurt. To make matters worse, his collar, a device meant for control, became a source of torment, delivering sharp shocks each time he approached the door.
By the time Thursday rolled around again, with no sign of Y/n's familiar presence, a different sensation began to wash over him. Weakness seeped into his bones, and the walls he had constructed felt heavier. The anger that once fueled him began to fade, leaving behind a profound longing. All he could think about was the warmth of her smile and the comfort of her voice. He simply wanted to see her again, to feel the spark of connection that had been his lifeline, now replaced by an aching solitude.
He spends all day, every day, curled up on his unmade bed, tears streaming down his cheeks as he clutches his chubby little frog plush close to his chest. The soft, worn fabric of the toy provides a semblance of comfort, almost becoming an extension of himself in his desperate moments. Frustration and despair bubble to the surface as he screams at the indifferent doctors and stern guards, pleading for them to let him see her, his voice echoing off the sterile, grey walls of the hospital room. Each sob feels like a weight on his chest, as he longs for the warmth of her presence, for a glimpse of the familiar face that he misses so deeply.
But still, as if in an act of cruelty, they kept her from him for a whole other week.
Finally, three weeks after Tyler last saw Y/n, the door opened.
The two usual guards matched in, Tyler locked eyes with the taller man, knowing what he’d last done when she visited. They came over and chained his hands up to the wall once more,
The guard chuckled, “You’re little lady’s here.”
Tyler didn’t do anything but glare,
“She’s devoted, she’s come every Thursday.”
That broke his heart, to know Y/n still came every week only to be turned away by the hospital staff. “You’re cruel.”
“Cruel? I can be far worse.”
Tyler grunted and pulled at his chains,
He scoffed and slowly headed out of Tyler’s cell.
Tyler sighed deeply, trying to shake off the tension that had been building inside him. He focused on his breathing, attempting to anchor himself in the moment. Yet, the instant the door creaked open, an electric thrill coursed through him, quickening his heartbeat.
Y/n stepped into the room with effortless elegance. She wore sturdy boots that clacked lightly against the floor, green fishnets decorated with delicate ivy leaves. The brown plaid pleated knee-length skirt swayed gently as she walked, the fabric catching the light and giving it a warm, inviting glow. Her crisp white blouse peeked out from under a soft green cardigan that hugged her figure just right.
Her hair was styled in two low, playful buns, with loose strands framing her face. As she caught sight of Tyler, her eyes sparkled, and her wide smile lit up the room, washing away his anxieties in an instant.
He broke into the widest smile of his life, tears welling up in his eyes, “M-My sweet little fairy,” He choked,
“My sweet monster,” she cooed,
As soon as the heavy door swung shut behind her with a resounding thud, she darted across the dimly lit room and enveloped him in a tight embrace, her arms wrapping around his torso with unwavering urgency. She disregarded the jagged scars that adorned his skin and the sweat that made him slick.
Tyler let out a soft whimper, raw emotions spilling forth as tears streamed down his cheeks. He buried his face in her hair, inhaling the familiar scent of her shampoo mingled with the faint scent of hope. In that moment, he strained against the cold metal chains binding him, yearning to touch her fully. His fingertips brushed gently against her shoulders, each light caress a testament to the desperate longing that surged within him, a silent plea for comfort amidst the darkness that surrounded them.
“I missed you,” she smiled against his skin,
“You’d never even comprehend how badly I’ve missed you,” He whined, “five hundred hours without you… It's incomprehensible.”
“They haven’t treated you too badly, have they?” She met his eyes, her own full of fear and concern,
“I get to see you again. I don’t care what they did to me.”
“You are so sweet,” she smiled, hugging him once more,
He smiled and lay his head against her hair, inhaling her scent, taking in the softness of her clothes and her skin against him. “Do you think my fairy could… give me one of those magical kisses? Since I’ve waited so long for them.”
Y/n chuckled, “Of course, my monster gets all the kisses he wants,” she cooed, resting her hands in his, moving to her tiptoes and pressing her lips to his,
Tyler happily tightened his grip on her hands. He kissed her back as gently as he could, even if he wanted to push her to the floor with kisses. But he kept the kisses slow and sweet, as long as he could.
“That’s time, love birds,” the guard scoffed as he opened the door,
Tyler growled as they moved away from Y/n’s lips, “That was not five minutes.”
“New rules. You only get two.”
“I get five minutes, and if you take her a second before swear I-”
“Tyler…” Y/n cut him off, “Please, it’s okay. I’ll be back next week.”
“But two minutes… how can I bear that being all the time I have with you?” he whimpered,
“Any time is better than nothing, isn’t it?” she pleaded,
He sighed, squeezing her hand. “You’re right, I’ll see you next week, my sweet little fairy.”
“See you soon, my sweet monster.” She cooed, leaning up so they could share a sweet kiss goodbye,
“That’s enough, come on, little lady!” The guard complained, grabbing Y/n by the shoulders and pulling her from Tyler’s grip so hard that she screamed and tumbled to the ground beyond his cell door, ripping her tights as she fell.
Tyler’s rage completely boiled over as he heard her scream, his eyes stared down the guard, his cheek twitching, his teeth baring. Immediately, from his heart racing and anger building, his collar began to spark and shock him, but he was too far gone to even feel it anymore.
It was too late… they had pushed him too far by taking Y/n from him.
“What the-” The guard gasped as his eyes fell to Tyler, watching as he broke the chains that restrained him, “Ohh shi- Code red! Code red!” He shouted, “The hyde is out. Repeat. The HYDE IS OUT!”

Immediately, a cacophony of alarms erupted, their blaring wails slicing through the tense atmosphere as red warning beacons pulsed ominously, casting frenzied shadows on the sterile walls. The frantic footsteps of guards echoed down the corridors, their boots hitting the polished floor with urgency, while doctors, faces drawn tight with fear, rushed in a chaotic dash. The sharp clanging of steel locks resounded as they slammed shut, the sound reverberating like an impending doom, an attempt to contain the chaos and ferocity of the Hyde.
The guard’s face went completely pale as he watched Tyler transform, “Ooh fucking hell…” he gasped, his legs trembling as he was completely frozen in the doorway.
The hyde loomed menacingly, its feral gaze fixed on them as it bared its sharp teeth, the sound of its low, guttural snarl reverberating through the damp, stone walls of the cell. For a brief moment that felt like an eternity, He remained frozen in place, heart racing, his face pale and eyes wide with mounting terror. He fidgeted, his grip on the keyring trembling as he slipped further into panic.
Suddenly, with rage fueling his every move, the Hyde sprinted full speed towards the door.
In a mad rush, the guard slammed the door closed just fast enough to seal the cell, before the Hyde reached it. This allowed him a moment to catch his breath in panic, “Okay… that should be safe-” he began,
But before he could even finish his sentence, a bone-chilling screech erupted as metal scraped harshly against metal. The door shuddered violently in its hinges, and then, with a sudden, jarring motion, it was wrenched from the frame and sent flying across the dimly lit cell. Hyde, fueled by raw fury, tore the door apart as if it were nothing more than flimsy paper, sending fragments flying as he hurled it with reckless abandon.
The guard's voice shattered the eerie silence, a piercing scream that echoed off the cold stone walls, as he collapsed to the floor beside Y/n. His face blanched in terror, and a dark stain spread across the fabric of his trousers from his terror.
With a fierce, predatory instinct, the Hyde lunged forward, seizing the guard by the ankle with a grip like iron. The sound of fabric tearing punctuated the struggle as he started to drag the terrified man closer, the guard's frantic attempts to scramble away only fueling the Hyde's relentless pursuit.
“No! No, no, please help me!” He begged his hands stretched out to Y/n, “Nooo no no no no! Please!” he was dragged away from her. He grabbed onto the doorframe in desperation, tears running down his face. But the force of The Hyde’s grip caused his ankle and foot to break, separating with a squelchy sound as bone and flesh separated and spilt blood across the floor. His eyes rolled back as he screamed, almost passing out from shock.
The Hyde pulled the guard closer, hanging the man by his legs. Once face-to-face, the Hyde roared in his face just to terrify him even more. Before dropping him to the floor and beginning to feast while he’s still alive and able to scream.
Y/n sat still, completely frozen, her back against the wall and her legs on the floor. She shivered with fear, but found herself unable to move, unable to breathe, unable to do anything but watch the horrific display. She’d never truly seen the Hyde in its fullest of rage’s not with her own eyes at least.
Suddenly, the monstrous figure of Hyde shifted its malevolent gaze from the lifeless body of the guard to Y/n, who sat frozen in a mix of terror and disbelief. A shiver coursed through her body, each nerve ending alight with fear as a soft whimper escaped her throat, her lips trembling uncontrollably like fragile leaves in a storm.
With a primal roar, the Hyde lunged toward her, its eyes glinting with a dark hunger. In a visceral response fueled by panic, Y/n instinctively thrust her hand out in a desperate attempt to shield herself. “Nooo!”
Miraculously, the Hyde came to an abrupt halt, mere inches away from her outstretched palm, its breath heavy and ragged. The air around them crackled with tension as time seemed to freeze, locking them in a moment that hung between them.
The hyde looked over at its back legs, finding its long limbs coiled by thick ivy strands growing taller and tighter around them, leaving the hyde unable to move. Its gaze slowly turned back to the still shivering Y/n.
As she kept her hand out, shaking as she held it, her eyes meeting the monsters’ as firmly as she could. “I said, No, Tyler.”

Somehow, despite the bubbling excitement and anticipation coursing through him at the thought of Y/n's visit, Tyler had overslept. The morning sun streamed through the barred windows, casting a warm glow in his cell, but he remained blissfully unaware, hugging his frog to his chest, until a loud thud shattered the silence, and his breakfast was unceremoniously tossed through the door. The sudden noise jolted him upright, and a rush of adrenaline surged through him as he leapt out of bed.
In a flurry of movement, he hastily smoothed out his wrinkled sheets, making the bed look presentable, while carefully placing his stuffed frog on the pillow, tucking the edges of the blanket around it as if the frog were still peacefully dreaming. His heart raced with the urgency of the moment, and he barely had time to wolf down a spoonful of porridge and splash cold water on his face. Just as he was catching his breath, the door swung open, and he hoped he looked less dishevelled than he felt.
“Against the wall, Galpin!” one guard snapped,
“I’m going. I’m going.” He spat back,
“Don’t backtalk me, boy!” One guard warned, forcing him against the wall aggressively, “Or should we tell the doctor you're being disobedient, have him cancel your little girlfriend for a few weeks?”
“No!” Tyler growled, going to lunge at the man on pure instinct,
“AH. AH. AH.” He chuckled, seeming to enjoy provoking him, slamming Tyler’s hands hard against the wall and setting the chains far tighter than usual. “Don’t forget who’s in control here, boy.”
“Do not. Take Her. From Me.” Tyler threatened,
He scoffed and slowly walked out, slamming the door behind him,
Tyler waited longer than usual. He began to worry that they might turn Y/n away. But finally, the door opened, and the sight of her made him sigh in relief.
Y/n stepped inside. Her little boots, polished to a shine. She wore a cheerful orange skirt, a snug green sleeveless top. A cosy brown cardigan draped over her shoulders. Her hair was pulled back into a low ponytail, with a few stray strands framing her face. Clutched in her hands was a small box. Unlike her usual bubbly self, she didn't wave hello or offer a bright smile today; instead, her gaze lingered on the floor,
“Hey!” He cheered, overwhelmed with excitement just to see her,
The door slammed shut behind her, and only then did she faintly smile, “Hey, Tyler.”
“Are you okay?” he asked, starting to panic a little,
“Umm… just a little… under the weather, that's all.” She lied,
But he didn’t push it; he didn’t want to upset her or waste the brief time they had arguing about it. “I missed you,”
She came closer, and her smile grew. “I missed you, too, Tyler.”
“I’m sorry, I uhh I was up late, I uhhh I’m sure I must look a state.”
“You’re fine,” she smiled,
“Did uh.. Did you bring anything for me this week?” he asked, his tone full of hope after last week.
She chuckled, “I did, I brought a whole batch of triple chocolate cookies,” she smiled, showing off the box she brought.
“Ummm! Thank you,”
“You’re welcome.” She smiled, setting the box down by his bed. “Little frog, still happy?”
“Yeah, he’s still sleeping,” he joked,
“Awww, sleepy frog,” she chuckled,
“Y/n?”
“Yes, Tyler,”
“Is, uhh, there any chance you might have brought me anything else?”
She tilted her head a little, confused, “Uhhh… no? Just cookies.”
He began to tremble, getting a little impatient, “Are uhh are you sure there is uhh isn’t anything you have for me?”
“… not that I can think of, why? Something you wanted?”
“Well, uhh, when you left last week, you uhh gave me a little something?” he winked, trying desperately to get her to catch on to what he wanted.
She laughed, “You could have just asked for a kiss, Tyler.” She smiled, moving to her tiptoes and kissing his cheek,
Tyler sighed happily at the feeling of her warm lips on his skin, his stomach felt like it was full of butterflies, and his cheeks flushed red.
“Happy?”
“Well… could I uh maybe get another one?”
“Another?!” she gasped, “How many do you want?”
“Umm, as many as you’ll give me, my sweet fairy,” he growled,
She smiled, moving up on her tiptoes once more to pepper his face with sweet little kisses, leaving small, glossy marks on his skin from her lip gloss.
He blushed harder, unable to hold back sighs and laughs. Purposely pouting his lips, trying to get a better kiss.
“Oh?” she raised an eyebrow at his pout, “You want that kind of kiss?”
“More than anything…”
She nodded and chuckled, “Close your eyes, my sweet monster.”
He scoffed and closed his eyes tight, waiting impatiently, his leg bouncing a little in excitement. He heard her shuffling around and moving, but he found not her sweet lips against his own. But soft yawn, he opened his eyes in shocked confusion, only to see the frog in her hands pushed up against his face to kiss him. “Hey!”
She laughed hard, unable to help, almost doubling over,
“You’re a cruel little fairy,” he pouted,
“I know,” she shrugged, setting the frog back down on the bed,
He slowly gathered the courage to ask, “Y/n?”
“Yes, Tyler,”
“Why… why didn’t you look happy to see me?”
“I’m always happy to see you,”
“But?”
“But… it’s nothing-”
“Please, please tell me.”
“The uhh… the guards were uhh…”
“What? Did they… did they do something to you?” he asked, his rage bubbling,
“Just longer with their search today. That’s all.”
“Let me guess… mouthly bastard?”
She nodded sheepishly,
“Did he… did he touch you?” he growled,
She nodded once more,
“Where. Where did he touch you?!” He barked,
“It’s nothing-”
“Y/n. Where. Did. He. Touch. You?”
“His hands just… went a little further under my skirt than needed, and under my shirt. That’s all.”
He nodded through gritted teeth, “I- I’m so sorry, Y/n,”
“It’s okay, not your fault.” She softly smiled at him, “Calm down, Tyler, please… I don’t want you getting hurt,” she cooed, caressing his cheek in the hopes of calming him so he wouldn’t be shocked.
He let out a long exhale, “It’s okay, I’m okay. So long as you're alright,”
She nodded, “I’ll be okay.”
“Time!” The guard yelled as he opened the door,
Tyler immediately locked eyes with the guard and glared him down, slightly pulling at the chains when he saw him, now knowing what he’d done to Y/n.
“Let’s go, little lady.”
She sighed and nodded, “I’ll see you next week, my sweet monster.”
“See you next week, my sweet fairy,” He nodded.
She smiled and moved to her tiptoes, and gave Tyler the kiss on his lips he’d been wanting.
His eyes shot open, almost moaning into her mouth. He let his eyes flutter shut, and he immediately kissed her back.
She slowly pulled back with a wide smile and flushed cheeks, “Bye, Tyler,”
“Bye, Y/n,” he cooed, giving her one more kiss,
“Let's go, little lady.” The guard barked, all but forcing Y/n out.
But as soon as Y/n was safely out of earshot,
“Hey.” Tyler growled, “I know what you did to her…”
The guard scoffed, “Ohh, do you now?”
“I’m gonna kill you. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But I will,” he growled,
He scoffed, coming closer, “You so much as bare those teeth at me, boy, you’ll never see your little lady again. Maybe I’ll tell the doctor you’ve been… conspiring with her. Or worse, maybe I’ll send her to the doctors too. Get her locked up in a cell just down the block, then I’d get her all to myself, with chains to stop those little hands snapping mine off her.”
“You wouldn’t dare!” Tyler yelled, “You will not hurt her!” he demanded, pulling on the chains so hard the link snapped, releasing him from the wall.
But the guard didn’t panic; he simply glanced at the camera in the corner, and before Tyler could even make a single step to attack him,
The pain shot through his body from the collar, forcing him to the floor. He screamed out, doubled over in pain, his body convulsed and jolted, tears flooding down his cheeks, losing control of his own bladder from the pain. Even when it stopped, he was still shaking, unable to move.
“You’re on lockdown, Galpin. No food. No visitors. Till I say so.” He smirked, "Maybe then you'll learn to be a good Monster."
“No… no… please… let me see y/n… do whatever else you want, but let me see her,” he pleaded,
But the guard mercilessly slammed the door on him,

Sweet Monster - Part Two
Tyler had been curling up with his chubby frog all day, every day, as if it were a lifeline. The soft yawn once held the comforting scent of Y/n, a smell that had long since faded, yet the memory of it lingered vividly in his mind, growing stronger with every squeeze of the toy. Each Thursday felt like a distant dream that he yearned for; he would count down the days with quiet anticipation. He didn’t engage with his theaptist or the guards, preferring to keep his head down and his thoughts to himself. He didn’t complain about the bland, tasteless food served to him, focusing instead on maintaining a low profile to avoid triggering the punitive shocks of his collar. He immersed himself in the desire to be a model inmate at Willow Hill, adhering to every rule to ensure he could make the most of his limited freedom.
But regardless of his efforts, the treatment he received didn’t seem to change at all.
This Thursday morning, he awoke before dawn, the cold light barely creeping through the small barred windows. With deliberate care, he made his bed, tucking the corners tightly, and arranged his frog plushie perfectly atop the crisp sheets, positioning it as if it were waiting for its beloved companion’s return. He washed up as best he could in the cramped, grimy sink, letting the warm, sweat-soaked water and a few drops of soap flow into the toilet below. He could do little about his surroundings, but he wanted to emerge feeling—and looking—somewhat cleaner, not so drenched in sweat, when she came to visit.
When the guards arrived, he put up no fight to being locked back into his chains and tugged hard against the wall,
“Excited? For your girlfriend to come visit ya?” one laughed as he checked the restraints,
The joking tone he took about it made Tyler’s blood boil; he wanted to lunge at the man or atleast snap back with a quick comment to shut him up. But he didn’t. He gritted his teeth, narrowed his eyes, and let a small growl come up his throat.
Soon enough, Y/n arrived, her presence brightening the space as she approached. Today, she sported her signature boots, which now bore a new layer of dirt. She paired these with vibrant green tights that hugged her legs comfortably, boxy brown shorts, which were adorned with intricate, large daisies embroidered on the pockets. Her loose-fitting white blouse, buttoned high at the neck. Over this, she wore a cosy green cardigan the wooden buttons.
Her hair, styled in two low buns secured with a green hair tie printed with tiny white daisies. With a warm smile that reached her eyes, she waved as usual, “Hi, Tyler.”
“Hey Y/n,” He choked a little trying to hold back how happy he was to see her,
“How are you feeling today?” She asked,
He scoffed, “Nothing to report.”
“You look happier and healthier,” she smiled,
“I had a sink shower,” he shrugged, “I wanted to clean up a little for you.”
She giggled, “Well, thank you for being so considerate of me.”
“You’re welcome,” he laughed, “did uhh did you bring anything for me today?”
“I tried, the guards said my cookies were quite ‘Untrustworthy and suspiciously shaped’ so they took them,”
“Ohh…” he sighed, unable to hide his disappointment,
“I think they just wanted to eat them.”
“Probably,” he nodded,
“I’ll have to bring you extra next week,” she smiled.
“You don’t have to do that, Y/n.”
“Well, I will. And you can’t stop me,” she joked,
“I’d never try to,” He smiled back, “I- I’ve missed you,”
She smiled widely and came closer, her hand coming up to softly caress his cheek, “Ohh, Tyler, I’ve missed you too,” she cooed.
His heart raced, leaping into his throat like a startled bird. A rush of sensations coursed through him, each nerve ending igniting with a fiery intensity that battled against a chilling wave encompassing his body. His eyes widened in disbelief, locking onto her penetrating gaze, which seemed to draw him in closer. His lips parted slightly, the air catching in his chest as he fought to suppress a moan, a shiver of anticipation coursing through him, leaving him both exhilarated and unnerved.
But as his heart raced so much that it gave a signal to the collar and its monitoring system. Sending a harsh jolt of electricity through his body. He flinched and squirmed before he cried out in pain.
Y/n quickly moved her hand away in panic, “Ohh- Goodness…” she gasped, “I’m so sorry, Tyler.”
He gasped hard, trying to relax his body after such intense pain. “It’s okay… It’s not your fault.”
“Is there anything I can do to help with the pain?”
“No, no… just… just need to stay calm. They don’t usually give me two unless I’ve really pissed them off.”
“They are so mean to you,” she sighed, “My poor sweet monster,”
He gulped and couldn’t hold back his giddy smile, “I uhh… I don’t think I’m that sweet,”
“I do,” she smiled, “The Sweetest Monster.”
“And you are the sweetest girl I’ve ever met,” He cooed back,
“That’s time!” The guard called as he forced open the door,
Tyler growled, his gaze falling to the guard with a rageful glare. He wanted to bark the man away, but he knew the punishment he’d get if he even spoke.
“I’ll see you next week, Tyler,” she smiled sadly,
“Yeah…” he sighed, turning his attention back to her, “Yeah, I’ll see you next week, Y/n.”
She quickly stood up on her tiptoes and pressed a little kiss to his cheek, “Bye, Tyler,”
He gasped, his heart stopping, his eyes going wide, his cheeks turning red. He immediately tried to move but immediately stopped by the chains. “I uhhhh… I uuumm… Yeah, Bye…”
She waved as usual as she headed out, the guards slamming the door shut behind her.
Once the door was locked and sealed, his chains were released. Immediately, he fell to his knees. He slowly and silently crawled to his bed and grabbed the frog. Without even thinking, he gave the frog's head a little kiss and curled up in bed with a smile, unbelievably eager for next week.

The room at the very top of Willow Hill felt like a prison cell. It was sweltering, nearly suffocating on scorching days, with the heat seemingly trapped by the stone walls that rose up like silent sentinels. These walls, cold and unyielding, were fortified by three-inch-thick metal plates bolted together. The floor was a bleak expanse of heavy concrete, worn and scratched by claws.
A few blue-hued LED lights were embedded in the slanted ceiling, casting an eerie glow that hummed softly.
Minimal was an understatement when describing his living conditions, it was as if he were a relic of a dehumanizing experiment which in some ways… he was. The only furniture was a narrow bed, its thin sheet painfully stitched directly to the mattress. A small, utilitarian toilet was crammed into one corner, equipped with a sink perched precariously on top, not even a holder for the paper. His water was dispensed from a grimy tap into a single, dented metal cup. Meals arrived through the bolted door and pushed through in a bowl like a mishearing dog.
Typically, Tyler was granted the bare minimum of freedom within this confined space, allowing brief periods to move about his enclosure. But the thick collar around his neck was a constant reminder of his captivity, delivering sharp jolts of electricity whenever he ventured too close to the walls, the door or whenever the staff simply wished to watch him squirm. The oppressive heat clung to him, saturating his skin with sweat, while the thin, hospital-issued sweatpants were all that he could bear to wear.
However, today felt different. They came for him early in the morning, the harsh fluorescent lights cutting through the fog of sleep and wrapping around him like a vice. Without a word, they dragged him from his bed and shackled his wrists to the wall, the cold metal biting into his skin. He understood this grim ritual all too well; it meant a visitor was coming.
Tyler’s heart raced with uncertainty. It definitely wasn’t his father, the man had made that painfully clear. Instead, he fervently hoped it would be Wednesday. Just the thought of seeing her sent a thrill of longing through him. He yearned to inhale the familiar scent that clung to her like a whisper of freedom. Maybe, just maybe, he could reach out and touch her skin, if only for a fleeting moment, and feel alive once more amidst the desolation of his existence.
"Galpin. Best behaviour?" The guard barked, The man's broad shoulders and steely gaze made it clear this wasn’t a request, but an order. And Tyler knew the punishment if he didn’t obey.
Tyler swallowed hard, he remained silent, choosing to keep his head down and avoid drawing any unwanted attention.
"Got a nice visitor today. You got ten. No more." The guard said. "She's a pretty girl.”
Tyler just nodded.
The guard swung the heavy door open, allowing the visitor to enter. However, it wasn't the expected figure for Wednesday.
Instead, Y/n stepped in hesitantly. She shuffled across the threshold in her muddy brown boots, which were caked with remnants of the outdoors. Her dark green tights clung to her legs, dramatically contrasted by the intricate black ivy leaf patterns of the fishnets layered over them. She wore a pair of slightly rumpled brown shorts that sat comfortably on her waist, paired with a loose-fitting green blouse that billowed softly with each movement. A brown cardigan pushed up to her elbows. Her long hair, usually flowing freely, was tied up in a messy bun held together with her signature ivy crochet hair ties.
As she entered, her large, expressive eyes shimmered with a hint of defenselessness, appearing almost tearful under the dim lights of the room.
Tyler felt a wave of disappointment wash over him at the sight of her, but a spark of curiosity ignited within him. He couldn't help but wonder why Y/n had chosen to seek him out.
"You have your safety, little lady?" The guard asked,
Y/n nodded, “Thank you,”
The guard carefully pulled the heavy door shut, the sound of its creaking hinges echoing softly in the dimly lit room.
She met his eyes and sniffled her tears, "Ohh you poor thing, what have they done to you…"
Tyler looked away from her,
“What is it?”
“Where is she?”
“Who…”
“Who? Who do you think?!” He snapped,
She jumped back trembling a little,
“Where is Wednesday?”
"I take it… You're not excited to see me."
Tyler scoffed, "What do you think?"
"I… Figured you'd want company…"
"Company, yeah. Not yours,"
She silently began to cry. "I'm sorry… I-"
Tyler noticed her crying, and a hint of guilt washed over him. He looked at her again, his expression now softening the slightest bit. "Where is she. Tell me.”
“She’s gone, Tyler.”
“Gone?
Tyler's eyes widened at her words. he felt his heart drop into his stomach. Gone… she was gone. "Gone? like gone from Nevermore? Or…" he asked, his voice hoarse. he hoped against hope that it was just a misunderstanding.
She nodded, "She left, she went home."
Tyler felt as if the wind had been knocked out of him. He couldn't believe it. Wednesday was gone. away from Nevermore, away from him. the thought of never seeing her again felt like a punch to the stomach. He let out a shaky breath, trying to process this information. Tears welled up, "Why… why did she leave?" he finally managed to ask.
"She didn't want to stay at the school, so when her parents came she convinced them and they took her home."
Tyler felt a pang of loneliness wash over him. He couldn't understand why Wednesday would leave, why she'd abandon him here, alone. After a moment of silence, he looked up at her again, his gaze filled with despair. "Did… did she say anything about me before she left?"
"I asked her, if there was anything she wanted me to tell you…"
he clenched his jaw, taking a deep breath, his grip on her hand still tight. "What did she say?"
"She said… No. There's nothing I need to tell him."
Tyler felt those words like a knife to the chest. He knew Wednesday was never one to express her feelings, but hearing her say those words… it stung. He couldn't help the look of disappointment that crossed his face. He looked away, trying to hide the hurt that he felt. The pain in his heart took over. After a moment of silence, he managed to force the words out, "…not even… a goodbye?"
She shook her head, "I’m so sorry Tyler…"
Tyler felt tears start to burn at the corner of his eyes, his heart breaking into a million pieces.
“But… I’m here,”
“Why?” he asked,
“What?”
“Why are you here?”
"I… I just wanted to see you, to come check on you. I…I miss you."
Tyler's heart thumped at her words. "You… missed me?" he asked softly,
She nodded stepping closer. "Mhm, I used to see you so much with the girls… Now you gone I… I miss you. I… I find myself sleepless worrying over you,"
Tyler was taken aback by her words. He found himself looking at her again, the way she worried over him tugged at his heart. "Why do you care so much?"
"I worry about you." She nodded, "I know this place… Isn't good for you."
"what do you want me to do, huh? you come here, worry for me, make me feel guilty. What do you want me to do?!"
"Nothing! I don't want you to do anything!" She told him firmly, "I… I just want to see you, be whatever little help I can be for you,"
"what… what could you even do for me, huh? I'm locked up in here." he spat, “I. Don’t. Want. You. Here.”
“That doesn’t mean I won’t still come,” She said, "I'm happy to visit, every week if you want me to." She suggested, "I could bring you food, books, anything they'll let me really." She smiled, "I just want to … Help Tyler. Make this place… A little less horrible."
Tyler paused, stunned by the extent of her words. He stared into her eyes again, conflicted between shoving away her kindness and soaking it in as much as possible unsure when he’d get any again. "You… you'd do that for me?"
“Of course,” she nodded,
he tried to swallow down the emotions that were rising in him but couldn't fight them. "Why would you go through all that trouble for me? I… I don't deserve it," he said honestly,
"Because you’re my friend." She smiled,
Tyler felt a lump in his throat as she called him her friend. He took a deep breath, trying to calm the emotions that swirled within him. "My friend…"
Before either could say another word the guard opened the door once more, “Times up. Come on, little lady.”
She nodded sheepishly, “I… I’ll come back, next week, if you want me to?” She asked,
Tyler stared at the ground, his heart racing as he searched for the right words. The weight of the silence hung heavily in the air, and he felt a knot tightening in his stomach. After a moment of hesitation, he realized that even the simplest response would be better than remaining quiet. He couldn’t let this opportunity slip away, not when so much was at stake. With a deep breath, he finally opened his mouth, “Okay…”
She smiled softly, “Bye Tyler.”
“Bye… Bye Y/n…”
The guard firmly grasped her arm, guiding her through the dimly lit corridor. With a resounding clank, the guard secured the lock behind her, leaving him alone in the cold, stark chamber once more, the silence enveloping him like a shroud.

The Hyde let out a primal scream, a guttural sound that resonated with pure rage, as it spat with venomous fury onto Y/n. Amidst the chaos, its massive, sinewy body writhed violently, fighting against the relentless grip of the vines that coiled higher and constricted tighter around its limbs, their green tendrils glistening ominously in the flickering lights. Its jagged jaws snapped shut, teeth glistening like daggers, while its wide, frantic eyes darted around, brimming with confusion and wild anger.
With determination tinged by fear, Y/n slowly managed to push herself up from the ground, her hand still extended toward the creature, trembling as dread coursed through her veins. She leaned her back against the cold, hard wall behind her, the texture of the surface digging into her skin. Taking a few long, deliberate breaths, she fought to retain her composure against the overwhelming noise of the blaring alarms and the frantic strobe of flashing lights that engulfed the space around her, casting eerie shadows that danced across the walls.
The hyde let out a piercing screech, its voice echoing in the shadows, as it lunged closer to her, desperate and frenzied. Its gnashing jaws clamped rhythmically, reminiscent of a rabid dog, snapping violently in the air with frothy spittle flying out, as it tried to claw its way toward her through the tangled underbrush. The creature's eyes glimmered with a fierce hunger, reflecting the dim light, heightening the sense of menace that enveloped her.
“No… you're better than this, Tyler,” she choked out, her legs trembling.
The hyde snarled loudly at her, fighting against the vines,
“It’s okay, it’s okay… It's not your fault, but please… please, it's me, it’s Y/n,” she begged, tightening the vines around him,
The hyde seemed to hear her, growling a little lower, eyes staring deeply into hers,
“Yes… Yes, it’s me, it’s Y/n…your little fairy. Please try and hear me, Tyler,”
Slowly, the hyde moved a little lower, moving closer to her. He let out a murmur like a growl that seemed quiet and non-threatening,
“It's okay, just breathe, just think… nice… non-violent thoughts,” she cooed, doing her best to calm the monster, “I’m going to slowly… slowly! Release the vines… okay.”
The hyde gave no answer, seeming only to breathe in rushed gasps,
She nodded and gently began to release the vines, allowing them to shrink back. Immediately, the hyde jumped towards her, but with a clench of her hand, the vines tightened,
“Tyler! It's just me… just your little fairy. I promise, I’m not going to hurt you.”
The hyde almost seemed to nod, moving as low as it could, as Y/n slowly but surely pulled the vines back. Once released, the Hyde fell to the floor before her on its knees, bowing before her.
She smiled and fell to her knees gently and tentatively moving closer, until her forehead rested against his own, “It’s okay, I know you can’t help it Tyler. You have nothing to fear, no one will hurt me, and I would never dream of hurting you.” she cooed, “It’s just us… my sweet monster.” She said in as calming a voice as she could, closing her eyes tightly.
“I- I’m so sorry Y/n…” Tyler choked, slowly wrapping his arms around her body. “I- I didn’t mean to-”
“I know,” she nodded, “It’s okay, Tyler.”
“I didn’t hurt you, did I?”
“No, you didn’t hurt me.”
“I’m so sorry I scared you like that…” He cried, “I would never hurt you… I would never hurt my little fairy.”
She softly smiled and met his eyes, “I know. I know you’d never mean to hurt me, My sweet monster.” She cooed, “But you hurt people, and you know you shouldn’t have.”
“He was an asshole-”
“I know… I know…” she nodded, “But you're better than that, better than this. You know that.”
“I do,” he sighed,
“Say it,” she giggled,”
“I’m better than this…”
“And?”
“I know I’m better than that.”
She smiled and gave his forehead a tender, loving kiss, “That’s good, my sweet monster. I always appreciate you wanting to be my knight in shining armour, but we should wait until you're more under control.”
“You’re right… You're always right,” he nodded.
“Come on, let's get you settled,” she smiled, slowly helping Tyler to his feet. She walked him slowly into his cell, stepping over the blood and remains of the guard. She sat down softly on the bed and let Tyler sit down beside her. She gently handed over the chubby frog, letting him hold it close to his chest. “There we go, all nice and sweet again.”
“Thank you, Y/n… I… I don’t know what I’d have done without you.”
“It’s okay, I’m happy to help,” she smiled, giving his cheek a small kiss.
“Y/n I… I…”
“Yes, Tyler?”
“I love you, my sweet little fairy,” he told her, tears flooding down his face, “I love you so much, I can’t breathe without you here. I barely feel alive when I’m separated from you. You’re the only person who doesn’t see me as some hellish beast. I love you… Truly, I do.”
She smiled, choking back her own tears, “Ohh, Tyler, I love you too, my sweet monster.” She cooed, “I promise, I’ll always be your little fairy, regardless of whatever rules they use to separate us. I will always do whatever I can to see you, to help you, to heal everything that has been done to you. For as long as you want me, my sweet monster.”
“I’ll always want you,” he smiled, “That much I know.” he nodded, leaning in, so they shared a soft and loving kiss.
