NEW WEEK NEW START: Try this during the week ahead to see what a game changer it can be: If someone tries to trigger you by, e.g.: insulting you or behaving in an annoying/irritating manner, take a deep breath and mindfully switch off your ego — because it’s only ever your ego that’s being offended/irritated. No ego, no pain. When you feel your reaction to their provocation brewing inside, hit the imaginary ⏸ Pause button, breathe, and say to yourself “This is only my ego responding to this, and I’m going to choose to disengage for my mental health and well-being”. Remember, in a war of ego the loser always wins, because if you’re easily offended, you’re easily manipulated — and who ever wants to be offended and manipulated? So, your mission this week, should you choose to accept it is... ❇️ Stay in the present moment and mindful. ❇️ Find your steel, because this will take practice. ❇️ Hold your nerve: yes, you CAN do hard things. ❇️ Rise above, so you can’t be manipulated. Then report back to yourself (or to me if you wish) at the end of the week, and measure the positive impact this exercise has had on your overall mental health and stress levels.
