The problem is not with what Khomeini said, or how he said it. Of course, as Nadhir said, it is a scholar's job to plagiarize the Imams in order to explain things to us in a simpler fashion. But here certain people will look at this and, out of their ignorance and idolization for this man, say, "Oh wow Mashaa Allah to him for being so wise" (and I know so many people like this it isn't funny), as if the ideas were his own. Others not so ignorant will take his books and read them, not as supplements to the Qur'an and ahadith, but on par with these things (again, I know people who do this). It's the way people react to him and anything he has allegedly said or done that is frightening, as if he were one of the Imams (as) himself, audhubillah. My point was to encourage reading of the Qur'an and ahadith to understand where we should be going in life with our deen, and who we should or should not be following in the process.
