It sounds like “I want to be white, white light” or sth like that. Typical “Engrish” or whatever better term could be used. Anyway, its a different cultural context; they wouldn’t associate “white” with “caucasian” as much as we would.
yah thats why i said "to a western audience"
start listening to about 50 secs in the full song and you'll hear "i wanna be white white now"
but dont worry i know a little better than that, that japanese culture and society is different from us/western societies.
For the anon wondering about a Tales-like anime, I would suggest Scrapped Princess! The character designs look like they are right out of a Tales game, the characters are on a journey and there many jokes involving the weird characters. Also, there is a serious subplot involving the destiny of the main character and the secrets hidden in the background of the entire world!
Anon here you go!
Eh, well I think that people should withhold from judging Korra in comparison to A:tLA for the time being because it is unfair for the most part. You can't expect a series to develop its characters and plot in such an epic and sweeping manner with 12 episodes in comparison to 61. If you are going to be fair, only judge the first 13 episodes of A:tLA in comparison to Korra's 12, because Bryke were not sure if the series would continue past that point. Remember, The Great Divide was in that set :P
Well it's absolutely possible to come up with a strong, well-rounded story and great character development for the entire cast within a small timeframe. Just look at Puella Magi Madoka Magica, that's only 12 episodes and it uses its time very effectively and that's done, there won't be any more episodes. Honestly at this point I kind of feel like I'd just be repeating myself if I keep talking about judging Korra B1 in comparison to Avatar B1. they aren't shows that parallel each other in terms of how they're designed, I've said that from the beginning: Avatar's seasons are longer and Korra's arcs are contained within single books. But that still shouldn't be a reason to dismiss or refuse to listen to criticism, as long as that criticism reasonable and has, y'know, merit based on what we've been given.
but as I said last night, I am holding off on putting up my final thoughts for the show, these responses I've been replying to are not necessarily indicative of any opinions I personally hold so there's no need to try to convince me of reserving judgment until later if that's what you're trying for. I was asked to judge the fandom's reactions and I tried to do so without bias, but somehow the discussion turned instead into why I/you/people should like or dislike or give it another chance, which I wasn't really... going for...
