Thank you!! I’ve read a couple of posts about why Tony calling Steve his friend is because he’s delusional (or doesn’t understand the meaning of friendship???) so it’s A-Ok for Steve to fight him the way he does on the trailer :))))
He gave all the avengers a place to live, and they’ve been a sort of family ever since ca:tws, so it’s okay to assume they became friends during that time. Nat calls them her friends (and yes, that probably includes Tony, wow!) and even if Thor and Tony had their differences he seems to like Tony too. Clint thinks of them as “his mess”, as a group he wants to take care of and yes, that includes Stark!
I’m not here to talk about who is the friendest friend of Steve, because Tony is his friend. Period. Idk why some people insist on the contrary, that mcu hasn’t shown their relationship the way they should have doesn’t mean we can all ignore the scenes when it does (i.e the ‘together’ scene, ‘i’ll miss you tony’). I think the most powerful scene is still the one of Tony’s worst fear, because Tony wants to protect his friends and the world, and not being able to do so is his worst fear, “You could have saved us. Why didn’t you do more?” (and let’s remember it’s Steve the one saying this line), so yeah, Tony has a lot of issues, but he knows how to be a friend, he knows who to call a friend.
Sorry for the rant, Tony’s face when he says ‘so was i’ still hurts me, and even if Steve is my favorite (by a tiny bit tho, i love all avengers) i think he’s being irrational in that trailer (also it’s impossible for me to cheer for him, that last scene was horrible).
