Fan-funding for Their Distance (Starring NU’EST Members) Success in 7 Minutes, Expected To Air Later This Year

Having made its world premiere at the 28th Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) back in October 2015, the Japanese movie starring NU'EST members Ren, JR and Minhyun is finally on its way to airing in S.Korea. The movie was first released in 2016 in selected cinemas in Japan, before having a world-wide release on online platforms via GooglePlay and Vimeo on-demand in celebration of NU'EST's 4th anniversary.
The funding is officially kickstarted by 디오시네마 (D.O. CINEMA) on 15 May with the initial target of KRW 3,000,000 (approx. USD$3000) and will last to 21st June. Thanks to the support of Korean L.O.V.Es, the target funding has been reached in a mere 7 minutes time-frame, and has been racing over 1200% of the initial target as of earlier today.

Approximately USD$37,000 has been raised so far from 655 supporters. The movie is expected to air later this year, around September for a limited time period at selected cinemas. The company is now hoping for more signature support from the fans as well.
‘Their Distance’ is an unconventional romance film from director Rikiya Imaizumi (Sad Tea) which traces the intricate connections between seven men and women. NU’EST members Aron and Baekho were also spotted in a cameo role, while Ren, JR and Minhyun participated as the main and lead supporting roles respectively.
The theme song of the movie, Cherry, is also a track performed by the members, and a track off their 1st Japan album, Bridge The World. The official movie ver. music video could be found here.
