thekattmarie89′s fave beauty products
So I don’t normally do things like this, nor have I really ever been into beauty products until recently, but lately I have found a few things that I think will be forever staples in my routine and I figured it would be a good intro post on my brand new blog thing!
1. Benefit “Goofproof Brow Pencil” - It’s definitely a bit pricey, but honestly it’s so worth it if you want something that can fill in your brows fast and solidly. It shaved a few minutes off of my daily routine and it was insanely easy to use. It doesn’t leave marks on your skin, it instead clings to any tiny hairs it finds. So you don’t have to worry about making a mark outside the lines of your brows, and it doesn’t go on streaky or patchy. If you’re like me and you have plenty of brow hair but it’s all just different colors or very light, then this pencil is perfect for you. If you don’t have much brow hair then this might not be best for you, but Benefit’s brow line in general is totally worth spending that extra money if you’re someone that really wants awesome brows all of the time.
2. Yes to Tomatoes “Detoxifying Charcoal Cleanser” - This cleanser is so awesome. I definitely wouldn’t use this one for everyday, (they have a different one for daily use that I haven’t yet tried but if you try it let me know what you think), but I use it probably 2-3 times a week depending on how my skin is behaving. It’s great because you can seriously FEEL it yanking all the nasty crap out of your pores. Afterwards your face feels so refreshed and so clean. I have combination skin so literally every facial cleanser I’ve ever used before this one, made my dry spots too dry, or made me breakout elsewhere if I stopped using it. This one has yet to have any negative effects, and I’ve been using it for about 3 months now. If you wake up one morning with a breakout, use it, and you’ll immediately notice a major difference in the size of your breakout just minutes to hours later, and by the next day the majority will be gone or at least heavily shrunk. I haven’t had a single pimple that lasted beyond two uses of this stuff. I even used it after my friend painted my face with stage makeup for a short film, and for once I didn’t have a breakout from the makeup. Highly recommended.
3. NYX “Two-Timer Dual-Ended Eyeliner” - I’ve been using various NYX products, especially their felt-tip and mechanical pencil eyeliners, for a few years now and this is by far my favorite. It has a felt tip liner on one side, and a mechanical kohl pencil liner on the other. The felt tip is great for winged eyeliner as it’s easy to change the width of your liner just by applying more pressure. The kohl pencil side glides on soooo smoothly and doesn’t seem to smudge as much as other pencil liners I’ve used. The only catch with this I would say is that it takes some getting used to using the felt-tip liner, as it goes on so easily that it’s actually easy to put too much on or go too thick. Once you get the hang of the pressure needed, it looks great. I would recommend using an eye primer first, and then letting your liner dry with your eyes closed in order to prevent smudging or transfer to your upper lid, but that’s also just really dependent on what shape lids you have.
Well, those are my top 3 fave products right now, I have a few other new things that I’ll be testing out over the next few weeks and then I’ll probably post another one of these Beauty-Themed posts. I don’t plan for this blog to be a Beauty Blog though so don’t expect like a ton of these or anything.
