Every Expectation of Pleasure by charminglygrouped, a fic that explores the early days and nights (well, mostly nights :D) of the Darcys' marriage. It combines excellent erotica with great characterisation and interesting commentary on gender roles.

6. A fic that kept me on the edge of my seat

A Monstrous Regiment by AMarguerite. Action! Adventure! Comedy! Accidental dragon acquisition! Mostly unacknowledged pining! What's not to love?

8. A fic that deserves more love

My salad days, when I was green in judgement by branchcloudsky, an insightful look at the relationship between Kitty and Lydia Bennet.

10. A fic that's unfairly maligned

The Measure of A Man by maembe13, which I'm currently reading and enjoying so far. It's an intriguing look at how Darcy might end up with Jane Bennet instead of Elizabeth.

Summary:

The plan was this: return to Hogwarts, aim for eight O.s, move on with life.

But when McGonagall summons Hermione, her co-head Justin along with the other seven and eighth-year prefects for an extraordinary meeting ahead of term, she just knows the other shoe’s about to drop. And indeed: on the eve of September 1st, Hermione finds herself working to fit Draco Malfoy into her schedule.

Between Ginny (who has her own schemes), Justin (whose actions becomes odder by the day), and Mandy (whom Hermione never thought of as an enemy before), will Hermione manage to retain her sanity, whilst restoring some sense of normality for once— despite Malfoy being around, day in, day out?

Update schedule: pure chaos, but I'm aiming for weekly-ish.

Draco lowered his voice; Hermione edged closer to hear what he had to say.

“I never pegged you for a prude,” he whispered, and her entire body thrummed with the force of her heartbeat slamming against her chest.

“I—” She licked her lips; her mouth had run completely dry. “I’m not,” she finished stubbornly, but about an octave too high.

“Then how would you —how’d you phrase it?— 'Do whatever one pleases'? ” Draco pressed, still whispering. “As a good girl.”

I was dreading that one because it’s one of the least developed ideas, so I don’t even have a snippet as all I’ve written is the plot twist 😅.

It’s about Hermione and Draco who investigate a row of disappearances and in its course, arrive at an idyllic village. Soon they find out that idylls come with a heavy price they might or might not be willing to pay 😎.

Hi there! I want to rec Détraquée by Hystaracal. I know this used to be a well-known epic fic but since our fandom has seen such an influx of new readers, I wanted to give it a shout out. It's really amazing how the author manages to create such fleshed out characters whilst staying fairly within the lines of canon; the portrayal of Hermione is among my favourites ever. It would be so lovely if the author saw that we still cared about the story, so she might be motivated to update again. ❤

I just watched your vid and I was struck by your answer about "the one". Did your "psychic feelings" about mr blake influence the way clean/marked turned out? Because that struck me as very similar.

actually, no. I’ve never thought about them as having any similarities? I suppose they do in concept, only I’ve mentioned before that I don’t think I knew mr blake in any past lives or alternate timelines. I have the strange but very real sensation I am meeting him for the first time, incarnation-wise
