Hey sorry if these are really basic questions that you get asked all the time but 1) is Lucy the name of your system as a whole or just your most prominent alter? 2) Do alters share memories? If so, how? Do they watch what goes on or do you have to consciously explain things to them or some other thing? Related question: do some alters remember the same events differently? Do you ever argue amongst yourselves about what "really happened"? Sorry if this is invasive you don't have to answer.
Lucy is the name of me! The current host alter! Our system is called the Sovereign System or shorthand, collective.
Some of us can share memories and others cant! The how of that is very very complicated because of how disociative barriers work! Being aware of what sgoing on is called co-consciousness (co-con) and we don’t always have that for all of us. Sometimes we have to show each other memories the others might not have experienced themselves.
Sometimes we experience things differently, but not terribly often. We tend to agree on a lot of things. Catherine might experience something as scary and intense because she’s a child but Alec, a teenager, might not see it as a big deal. We don’t tend to argue about what “really happened” because we all just sort of assume that we’re all right/wrong to some extent and it doesnt end up mattering much.
