unfortunately, no. i can usually get by understanding simple conversations in spanish/italian, but that’s about it.
how often do you reach for a synonym dictionary when writing? how about mentally?
looking in an actual thesaurus ( online ), i do so occasionally, maybe once or twice a week? as for how often i mentally search for a word, i’d say i do that a lot more frequently, probably once a day.
how often do you need to translate your own or the other’s writing with a dictionary or google when writing and reading replies?
do you listen to music while your write?
i do! i find it usually helps me get into the mood of a character, or situation. it also really helps me with writer's block and helps get me in the mood.
do you have ideal writing circumstances when you can do a lot of drafts or tackle really long ones very easily?
the ideal situation for me is a day when i have no plans, i am alone ( in person, talking to people on discord/through text is different ), i have some music playing, and i am entirely comfortable.
are you a morning, day, evening, or night writer?

it can make my writing sloppier, or, frankly, non-existent.

i have never been intoxicated, so no!
how much do you proof-read as you are writing vs. proof-read at the end?
proofread? please, i read the replies ten minutes after i post them and see typos/errors and wonder why i write in the first place assdfgh
when you are writing a reply, how much ahead in the thread do you plan?
i don’t really plan, i do sometimes run scenarios about how the thread could go and how my characters would respond to the situation, but i do tend to prefer organic reactions/replies
is there ever been a time when you’ve had to drop a roleplaying partner because you’ve found their writing style exhausting?
yes and no. i don’t typically drop partners, but if your writing style bothers me too much, or your theme is too hard to read, i am less likely to have the energy to reply to those threads ( by this, i mean trying to understand when the character is talking vs. thinking/acting/feeling. i’m not a format snob, i just expect basic third person storytelling rules to be followed. )
does writing roleplay things in public spaces make you uncomfortable?
what do you do after you see a person has replied? do you read it immediately, or do you wait for it to show up on the dash? do you like it, draft it immediately, etc?
if i have the time, i always make a point to read it as soon as possible so i can start to form an idea of how i want to reply, and then later i either deep dive the dash, go to their blog, or check my activity to do the reply!
how often do you need to change the icon in your reply while or after writing the reply?
not often, i usually write the reply and then search for the icon right before i post.
do you first get in the “zone” when writing, or do you start writing and “enter” it that way?
again, depends on the situation. more often than not though, i do have to be in the “zone” to write or it won’t happen.
what is your biggest obstacle to writing every day, if time doesn’t count?
honestly, work and my insomnia. i work an average of forty hours a week at one of the busiest walmarts in the u.s., which means by the end of each five-day stretch, i’m mentally, physically, and socially exhausted. as for the insomnia, it means that, while i have more hours in the day ( i know we aren’t counting time but i’m just using it for the explanation ), due to the lack of sleep, my mind isn’t always in the place for me to do anything productive, nor is my body. it also affects my mental health in a negative way which puts me off doing anything productive, or fun.
how many drafts is a paralyzing amount?
because i rarely use drafts i’m going to do this as the amount of replies i owe? and it just depends on my mental health at the time, and how busy the day is. some days the amount is as low as one reply, but usually, on average, once i owe 20+ it gets a tad overwhelming
if you are writing a wrong reply that’s not working out, do you save what you have to be continued at another date, or do you scrap it and rewrite?
it really just depends, though, more often than not, i end up drafting it with the intention of finishing it later, but usually end up just scrapping it entirely and rewriting my reply
does making icons give or take away energy to write? what about other graphics?
making graphics honestly gives me a ton of muse, while also giving me something productive to do when my muse isn’t the highest.
longest reply you’ve ever written on mobile?
off the top of my head, the longest i can remember writing on mobile was 1400 word? to be fair though, 90% of my interactions are done on mobile so for me it’s just as easy to do them on my phone as it is on a laptop
what’s your thought process when you format? any unspoken rules you follow?
simple and clean. small text, capitalization to match my partner, and depending on the situation, an icon.
