"The press? Is that what you’re calling that rag you work for? Oh, don’t be so surprised, I keep up on everyone new who comes into town." Lisa sneered at the reporter, before pausing and softening her expression.

"Now, what kinds of hard questions? Ones that can be discussed over…dinner, perhaps?" She smiled at him, and made note to bring her strychnine with her.

Item: Joseph's blood test results

"Oh finally! Now, if only I could get him to come into the hospital…then again, I haven’t heard anything from him in a while…"

Lisa looked at the test results, finding nothing really surprising, before folding them and tucking them away in a desk. She was sure she’d remember them for when she saw him next.

The phone rang once only; the voice was wet with static, but for that, still familiar. "I haven't forgotten you yet, Eileen."

Eileen answered it quickly enough not to really notice the one ring, but the static on the other line made her hair stand on end.  She was about to ask who it was when she placed it.  "Joseph? Is that you?  H-how did you manage-?  Are you-?"  She frowned, then quietly added, "You're stuck, huh?"  She'd hoped that maybe their souls would be released or something, but no such luck.

She doesn’t know it, but her brother haunts her hospital.

He is the dark figure who stands by the stairwell, saying nothing, doing nothing when she is there, only facing the wall, hunched. But, when she leaves, he makes a crying noise, before flickering and fading.

He wants to talk to her, but he can’t. He is not like her, a ghost with someone who desperately cared for them. He is a ghost who was lost too young, for a purpose too foolish. Now he knows that none should oppose the Order, for you will lose your voice, your name, and your death.

He wanders the hospital, watches his baby sister, and morns as she forgets everything about her past, her family, and him.

[[Neutral Good]]

A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them.

Creatures of neutral good alignment believe that there must be some regulation in combination with freedoms if the best is to be brought to the world--the most beneficial conditions for living things in general and intelligent creatures in particular. Creatures of this alignments see the cosmos as a place where law and chaos are merely tools to use in bringing life, happiness, and prosperity to all deserving creatures. Order is not good unless it brings this to all; neither is randomness and total freedom desirable if it does not bring such good. (1)

Neutral goods value both personal freedom and adherence to laws. They feel that too many laws may unnecessarily restrict the freedom of good beings. They also believe that too much freedom may not protect society as a whole and encourage counterproductive divisions and in-fighting. They promote governments which hold broad powers, but do not interfere in the day-to-day lives of their citizens. (2)

These characters value life and freedom above all else, and despise those who would deprive others of them. Neutral good characters sometimes find themselves forced to work beyond the law, yet for the law, and the greater good of the people. They are not vicious or vindictive, but are people driven to right injustice. Neutral good characters always attempt to work within the law whenever possible, however. (3) [x]

Type 1 are those who are passively good- they have fairly normal lives and ambitions but will do good as the situation arises. They will help anyone they come across who needs it, then get back to their normal routine. They are most likely to be good towards family, friends and those within their social circle (if they are a Jerk with a Heart of Gold, to the extent allowed), though they have no issue with helping strangers. They may even do volunteer work or other do-gooding that they find personally satisfying. At the same time, they do not view Good as the concept that defines their lives- for them, Goodness is an obligation, or even just their nature. They will do what Good they like or what needs to be done, and then they will go home and carry on as normal. [x]
