🌺Book Review🌺 The Lies About Truth | Courtney C. Stevens Published: HarperTeen | Pages: 315 | Rating: 5/5 QOTD: If you could go on a road trip, where would you go and who would you go with? AOTD: I would take my sister and we would drive to this amazing BBQ place we found with the most amazing corn bread. I’d also bring my squad. ⚠️Trigger Warnings & Spoilers⚠️ The Lies About Truth goes into the topics of depression, friendships being lost, death, surviving, and finding love. The Lies About Truth honestly surprised me in the aspect it took and it was refreshing. Sadie Kingston survived a crash that killed her best friend/brother. The book picks up almost a year after. She feels incredibly guilty about surviving and feels like a monster because of all the scarring it left her. She ends up going to a therapist and she is not against it! She actually listened to her therapist. I loved it. Throughout this book I did tear up because I was entirely wrapped up in this book and when Sadie and Max talked about Trent because for me at least, I felt the sadness and despair that was there. Now, about her parents. She didn’t shut them out. She actually turned to them and they tried to help her and although when they started to force her to do a few things again to get her out of her rut, she hated it, but she did it and made the best of it. Oh but the twist! In the story, oh my!!!! I love how Max’s and Sadie’s relationship progresses, and although I wish some of Max’s emails would have been in the book, I still loved it. I also loved how he was for the most part patient and willing to help her going through the motions and whenever Sadie wanted to get out of a situation, he went for it without any questions asked. He was with her. Not ahead, not behind but with her. 🌺 Hashtags: #TheLiesAboutTruth #CourtneyCStevens #yacontemporary #yaromance #roadtrip #bookdragon #bookaddict #bookreview #bookroadtrip #booksbooksbooks #bookish #favoriteread #booklife #bibliophile #5outof5 #bookworm #booklove #bookishlifestyle https://www.instagram.com/p/CD6qpbBAqfP/?igshid=1aiyn8jm6gwrj
