Storing things on shelves when you ACTUALLY have things. 

My darlings, my dears! I have been on a littlestapartment mission of my own getting my OWN tiny apartment in order, and my time for blogging went by the wayside. NO LONGER.

First tip upon my return is this wonderful example of open shelving that balances design with ACTUAL storage. Nothing drives me more nuts than these beautiful designs for people who apparently don’t own anything except their furniture. Mix different styles of storage bins to keep that designed look and keep all your stuff in check.

Especially in a studio apartment, open shelves can define your kitchen area without closing it off. And constantly keeping your dishware out in the open will keep clutter in check.

Lots of blogs show you gorgeous rooms with immaculate finishes, but what happens if you are renting your pad? White paint may be your new best friend.

A clean coat of white paint can work wonders for a rental with more basic finishes. Before you move in the landlord probably needs to repaint anyway, ask for a plain white, instead of the go to beige in many rentals and condos. It’ll give you a blank canvas and a fresh backdrop. 

If you’re looking to repaint, just remember to ask your landlord. But since when has anyone objected to a MORE neutral color?

Can’t afford a masterpiece to hang on that empty wall above your bed? Hang a series of photographs in a rectangle for an economical and stylish alternative. Stick with a unified color scheme for a sophisticated look.

I’m currently obsessed with the white walls and monocromatic/natural decor color scheme. It’s also particularly great for a rental where you may get stuck with neutral walls anyway!
