This might be a hot take, but I’m going to say it. I don’t think Vox should have a redemption arc, but maybe more of an atonement arc instead.

What I mean is, if they play their cards right, he could start reaching his lowest point. No longer having power, being kicked out of the Vees, and pretty much homeless. He could come to realize what a horrible monster he became when having all that power, how many people he hurt and killed when using that laser and causing them to lose family and friends. Not to mention how he treated Alastor and Angel Dust, the two people he hurt the most during Season 2. Have him come to realize what he did was not okay and how he himself basically ruined his life and pushed those that did care about him away.

And then from there he could start doing things to make up for his mistakes. It wouldn’t forgive everything right away, but it would be a start. And eventually get to where he apologizes to Alastor and Angel for how he treated them, not expecting forgiveness in the slightest and accepting that he and Alastor will never be close like they once were.

The problem is, Viv doesn't seem to know the difference between regret, redemption and atonement. If she likes a character, all is forgiven whether they show remorse or not.

The Valentines Day merch... I think it might be a sign that they're starting to run out of steam at this point. Because the negative response towards it is DEFINITELY louder compared to previous releases of merch.

Which is understandable considering how it keeps trying to shove the canon ships down our throats, most of the designs for some characters are either a bit wonky in terms of anatomy or trying too hard to be sexy, and Angel Dust not being a part of any of it whatsoever.

Then Vivziepop goes on Bluesky to complain in her usual fashion and tries to defend Val once again and even insults the people complaining about the lack of certain characters that should've been part of this year's collection.

Hey, Loganator! Haha, yes I made a new blog. Oh yeah definitely, the negative reception for the Valentine’s merch is much louder. On my old blog, an anonymous ask pointed out how the artists are toning down Stolas.

I’m not too surprised about the shoving of canon ships it’s bound to happen. The anatomy of the characters is very noticeable and wonky. I wouldn’t be too surprised if there was an extra tight schedule.

Angel Dust not being on the Valentine’s merch is very shocking. Even the comments on Spindlehorse’s Instagram page point it out and there’s also people on there arguing about Radioapple.

I was expecting a HuskerDust keychain clip-on similar to Charlie/Vaggie, Vox/Valentino, and Sir Pentious/Cherri Bomb. Vivziepop is treating Bluesky like it’s Twitter again. Morgana (Sally’s VA) also responded as well. 😭

So I'm in the middle of planning a Hazbin Hotel Swap AU and you're AU literally made me confirm that I should swap Charlie and Vaggie with Alastor and Vox.

Like they would be a couple but in the sense of an Asexual couple, like instead of kisses they share forehead boops.

As for how Vox's backstory goes. It would be like he was previously an angel that was in charge of recording extermination day to see what demons they killed and who to go for next year, then one year they get him to actually go down there to get some up close shots... only for him to realize what they're doing is wrong and abandon the camera to help some demons get to safety.

This of course would result in him losing his wings and halo and becoming a fallen angel in their eyes, leaving him to die after extermination day. Just as he was on the brink of death, Alastor saves him thinking he was an overlord that survived and they become partners.

I'm so glad we were able to inspire you, its an idea I never would've figured out if not from anon help but I adore it

Also your concept of the fallen angel Vox is so smart that's brilliant, if you ever do art or write a fic for them (whatever your preferred medium is) pls tag me in it that sounds amazing

Vivzie definitely comes across as either someone who peaked in high school and never got over that high, or someone who never got over their edgy teen phase and never emotionally or mentally grew up because of it.

At least to me.

She peaked in College. I remember specifically hearing from a post alledgely where her peer said no one liked her and she used to throw fits because of criticism. But also people say she didn't recieve criticism.

I feel bad for her sister though, drawing her Husk only to see her sisters OC being sexually harassed.

Yes, Husk is TECHNICALLY her sisters OC, yes she drew it for VivziePop but that's HER OC.

It goes to show, after Faussti left, she couldn't draw her own character to ship with her insult character of SA and LGBTQ+

Another thing that got to me about Aizawa not being a good teacher is that he doesn't allow his students to be teenagers, when they actually are! He says they shouldn't waste time when it could be put into training and stuff but shouldn't they also get a chance to breathe? The thing that got to me was that he didn't tell Momo about the beauty pageant because he thought it wasn't worth telling. Like I get they had band practice for the festival, but they should be allow to be teens when they can!

I will always stand by the fact that Aizawa is a great pro hero, but a shit teacher. This is one of the primary reasons why.

However, this part of his teaching style has always been interesting to me.

In the grand scheme of things, Aizawa basically traded his childhood for dedicating himself to his craft. He lost his childhood early on, losing a friend in the field before he officially graduated. This no doubt stuck with him, and he wants to have his students lose their childhood as well in order to prevent it happening again.

Which is a good concept, but holy shit it shouldn't belong to a primary mentor.

I personally think Aizawa should have been a one time pro hero mentor for an internship or work study. To kind of show Midoriya the different between a hero student and full on pro hero, most importantly how jaded Aizawa is to Midoriya's more sunny and open minded disposition.

Or Shigaraki kills Mineta and Shinsou is transfered in after being the top General student in the Sports Festival. Eraserhead takes him on as a personal student and Horikoshi can actually flesh out the quirk discrimination he's been teasing.

I've come to realize something.

They don't give the helluverse characters flaws as a way to explore more of their personality and flesh them out. They give them solely for the plot and nothing else.

Like Vaggie's whole deal with being an angel, I've already ranted about this topic and the only I'll say is that it was only added to have artificial drama and nothing else.

And then there's Cherri's personality swap of being Angel's friend to enabler just so they can "prove" how far he's come in his arc.

Oh and that's not even going into them making Charlie a secondary character in her own show and presenting her as always right.

They are also props too. For example: Cherri Bomb like you mentioned, is an obvious enabler (she was also an enabler in the pilot too but more subtle) in her debut episode towards Angel Dust and is way to show that Angel Dust has “grown.”

Even though Angel Dust was having offscreen development and is now on screen illustrating to have no interest with drugs despite literally last episode having a secret drug stash. It’s kind of funny and sad that Charlie is a secondary character in her own show.

I've been thinking more about how Sir P and Adam died and how it clearly shows that it's being written by people who have VERY different ideas on how certain scenes should play out.

Because their scenes are played up for laughs, a buildup to something grand only to end in a whimper... but the reactions of the characters are genuine and full of emotion. So it ends up creating a clash of tones as it leaves the viewer confused as to what to feel in the moment. Was it meant to be a funny scene or something to be taken seriously?

The deaths of these characters don't work because of this clash and needing something funny to happen, even if it doesn't fit what they're trying to go for at all.

Tonal whiplash has truly been a problem in Hazbin Hotel (and Helluva Boss too). It’s really annoying too, you have Sir Pentious being a badass in action only to undercut his moment with a joke. Then you have the characters in universe to cry about.

No way, you ruined the potential emotional moment (I wouldn’t care anyway because Charlie and most of Hazbin cast barely spends time with him but still). I will laugh at the joke. As for Adam, it’s hard to take seriously when the majority of the cast was standing and watching Adam have a breakdown. I don’t know why Charlie wasted time to stop Lucifer from killing Adam because it’s not like she tries to talk to him one on one in an attempt to reach out.

They all watch in disgust and pity. Any one of them in the 1-2 minutes of Adam having a breakdown could have ran off screen to get a used weapon to killed in him. Or throw their current weapon at him. Literally, Angel Dust still had his weapon. But it had to be Niffty (let’s be honest, she doesn’t add much besides comedy relief. You can cut Niffty out and nothing would change. You legit have razzle and dazzle clean in the background).

The worst part about is that Vivziepop can be good at tone. Season 1, Episode 8, Helluva Boss: near the end it was serious and tense. Blitzø calls out Stolas and leaves him. She CAN read the room.
