I figured that with all he had been through, Jasper the Lonely Chopstick could benefit from some therapy. There were certainly stages of grief that he needed to work out. Of course, he didn't want to be alone so he asked me to sit with him in the therapy session. He attempted to deny that his partner had been taken from him. Then expressed anger at having been left alone. He bargained that perhaps a human, maybe even myself, could provide him the companionship he needed. He cried realizing that his one true mate would never return to him. But he eventually came to accept that he would have to move on and forge a life and identity of his own. Not bad for an hour's work.
