y'ALL KNOW I'M GOING GD FERAL RIGHT NOW
please tell us about lilla and kiva as kroituama they’re everything to me
im so glad you asked me this on the exact day i discovered soleil soleil by pomme because it hit me with such a vivid wave of kiva-lilla inspo that i created a whole new thread of lore for them. i'll start with that before getting into their kroituama stuff.
so please please PLEASE listen to this song. it's the most beautiful thing ive heard in a very long time. i was drawn to it first for the bits where she's just sort of humming, because it reminded me really suddenly of the lullaby i had in my head for kiva when she was travelling north with lilla. she mimicked what arta used to sing/whistle to her - a noise very similar to birdsong. in my mind, this would sound a little more human coming from kiva, simply bc she was unpractised and sixteen and scared when she would have been singing to lilla, so that part of this song is so so accurate bc it IS singing, but it's got that waver to it. and that actually makes it extra perfect bc that wavering/ululating aspect is VERY popular in southern music. like the whole thing was almost eerily fitting and i latched onto this song from the start. but then i googled the translated lyrics;
Do not ask me why When the winter comes and the great cold We all want to die As if it was the first time That the night fell in our arms We all want to leave
To find, the sun Which we miss Which will burn all our sorrows The sun which haunts us Oh, come back sun, sun Never look down Or the mean wolf will eat you You will lose balance We will all count to three And make a chain with our arms On the southern route
Do you remember the first time That the snow and the roar came We are not all going to die Between the embers we will walk And the dark night will embrace us We will all be able to leave We will all be able to leave
this part is just so funadmentally lilla. the longing for the sun - the literal symbol of the harasaeons - and the mentions of north and south, the determination to survive despite all the odds of her birth, still asking where it all went, where that land of warmth went, her homeland that was stolen from her. it's just. yeah.
so as much as it cant LITERALLY be bc it's in french and thankfully the french do not exist in burnos, i still kind of see this as THEE lullaby kiva sings to lilla, inspired by arta's bird whistle and something that sticks with lilla for the rest of her life despite how impossible that should be (this is a fantasy story there are dragons let it go). like i might do a kuserian version but no matter what it'll be HEAVILY inspired by this and the tune will probs be the same lol. and the extra lore i came up with is that this lullaby already existed in the south (that's important - it's notoriously a southern lullaby) and kiva would have heard it and just edited it a bit to fit in arta. so the lyrics wouldn't have been something kiva really thought about at the time, but i reckon lilla becomes renowned for singing it about the brotherhood camp quite regularly, just under her breath as she's growing the crops or fixing someone's house etc, and it becomes a real anthem of the brotherhood partially bc the vibes of this song reallyyyyy give me 'downtrodden rebellion rising up from the snow' and bc the lyrics have that hunger, that oppression to them of never having enough, ESPECIALLY the bridge, but at the end of the day this is still a very clearly southern song sung in KUSERIAN which many of them (even lilla) cant speak leading to any renditions of it being them mainly making up words that sound right, so it seems odd they'd choose it as their song. but that's just it. it becomes a 'brotherhood song' to them because it's lilla's song. she sings it and THAT is why they sing it. she is their miracle. she is their hope and goal and the reason they now have something solid and feasible to reach for. the irony of that, of it not even being a southern song but being kiva harasaeon's song - because no one sung it like kiva sang it with the additions of arta's bits, that is her version well and true and that is the version lilla sings and in turn everyone else - is so so important to me because it shows the unity between these two sides, how peace can and will be achieved, and how lilla is the one to connect them.
that is the love of kroituama. maatui is a soft, self-assured glowing love, but kroituama is the burning, the passion. it wobbles, not in its devotion but in its own intensity, and it tends to blind or burn those that come too close. kiva's rage, grief and heartbreak upon losing lilla literally get the attention of the fucking gods, and they smite lugalia. kiva shreds soldiers to the bone with her birds when they chase her. she leaves blood in her wake only to get lilla to safety, not even to keep her. and lilla has that love in her for kiva, though she grapples with it because she is so torn up about the situation. she hates kiva, is angry at her, but loves her so so much. she is kiva. not 'she is like kiva', she is her. just as kiva is fundamentally lilla. they are made of each other in flesh and blood but also in their destinies. it's genuinely because of the power of this love and conflict within lilla that she's such a powerful wiser, that's how intense kroituama love is.
being kroituama means being inescapable, even if you might resent it. their blood is binded and has been since lilla came into this world, and both have and will split entire cities if anyone even tries to sever that bond.

''thank you for agreeing to help.'' / from kagome!
"Of course! I just couldn't leave you to clean this classroom by yourself." He smiles, as he goes to pick up the broom. Classes were over for the day, and it seemed that Kagome and some other students were supposed to be on cleaning duty today... but for one reason or another, they apparently could not stay behind (which Shuichi chalks up is them making convenient excuses to get out of cleaning duty), so that would have left Kagome to do the cleaning duty all by herself....
And while their classroom was thankfully not too dirty, where it should not take too long even if she did it by herself, but there was absolutely no way Shuichi would leave her behind, when the help she was supposed to be getting, bailed on her like that. They're lucky if he doesn't give them a scolding the next time he sees them... "That, and two hands are always better than one; we'll get this classroom done in no time! I'll handle the sweeping and the closet. And then I leave the teacher's desk and the windows to you, if that works...? Then we can both tackle the students' desks together. Though they do not look that dirty, so a simple dusting with a cloth should do just fine."
