Not quite a fact but Gl’bgolyb is supposed to be pronounced "Glub Glub"
Every single scientist believes their field is the (hardest, most important, etc...), probably because they have so much experience with how amazing and complicated it is. But instead of debating we could be doing science, so this conversation is wholly unproductive
I've been trying really hard to not say that bio is inherently more difficult than any other field. I don't actually think that. I've been arguing that it's not easier than other fields and responding to other common criticism that invalidates it as a field, or at least I think I have.
But we should definitely be having this conversation. Because to be socially responsible scientists (as we should all strive to be) we need to understand how our various fields interact with each other and with society.
Science is built on collaboration within and across fields, and to effectively collaborate we need to understand each other. Blatant dismissal of any field is counterproductive to that goal, so addressing that dismissal and the reasons for it is good for science and makes us better scientists.
Also we all need to vent about our frustrations sometimes. That's okay. So please don't imply that my (or anyone's) feelings about this are pointless.
The zero gravity thing isnt real, also it's completely impossible and ridiculous
pfft thank you very much friend :>

I see what you did there.
I was in third grade, so I would probably have just complained about how much homework I had (I literally had more homework in 3rd grade than any grade until high school for some reason), and there would also have been a lot of PBS love. And lots of Harry Potter because Goblet of Fire had just come out and blew my mind.

Yes, it would, because the DI water dilutes the base solution in the burette to a different concentration than is known
Thank you so much! I was going to hand it in with the wrong answer. You have saved my butt from ruining an already poor report.
What do you hate about Lewis the Chemistry Hippo? :)
That I'm not currently working in a lab so I can't take pictures of him doing lab work. Also that people give me weird looks if I try to take pictures of him in public.
Send me something and I'll tell you what I hate about it
