No Time Will Be Better | Harley&Eddie
Held up in his office, as usual, Edward was hard at work putting the finishing touches on something that he had been creating for weeks - almost a month. The door was locked. This was meant to be a surprise; Harleen didn't need to see it. Not yet. If she saw anything, it would all be ruined.
He couldn't have that.
Everything had been set up - the lanterns hanging from the branches to the small table for two; appropriately dressed with 'whozits' and 'whatzits' galore. He had managed to turn their backyard into something right out of 'The Little Mermaid.' For her. For Harleen.
If there was ever a time to do this, it was now. Things had seemed to quiet down; although, the clown was always a looming threat, he had been behaving. Or plotting. Either way, Edward wouldn't wait any longer.
He had left a note on the counter for Harleen - instructing her to head into the backyard once she arrived home. It said nothing else, and he wouldn't be in his office to explain. He rose from his chair, placing a small item into his pocket and adjusting his tie before heading out to wait.
He hated the waiting.
why are eddie and harley so stinkin cute

Why do you insist on prying into the past?
What are you talking about?

The ride home was anything but pleasant. Edward's nerves were already shot from the amount of sheer stupidity that littered the entirety of the grocery store. All he had needed was fireworks - well, fireworks and whipped cream.
Once he was home, he quickly made his way into the house, dropping the two bags onto the counter before scooping up the medicine and glass of water his better half had so kindly placed out for him.
