thank you :)
themanicdoll replied to your post:Weekly Reflection I was employed at Walmart for literally one day before having to resign and that’s a slightly awful thing to have to live with atm (though honestly it wasn’t all my fault) so fun times
That’s awful. I hope this coming week will be better for you.
themanicdoll replied to your post:Why do I have to be so depressed all the time? I... I feel this. I’m so sorry. Having an eating disorder OR struggling with depression is difficult enough, but struggling with both can be Hell. Sending positive vibes and support <3
Thank you <3

Thank you. You kind.
Unpopular opinion: I don't care for Gale or Peeta as the love interests in The Hunger Games. I love the series, but I don't care for much of the romance. Always loved Finnick though.
Agree! I always preferred Peeta to Gale if I had to pick one, and I think ultimately it’s good for them to have each other as support, but it was never a love story to me and it majorly ticks me off that the media has set it up that “Gale vs. Peeta” is the big idea in the series when it just. Really, really isn’t. (And yes Finnick is great!)
send me your unpopular bookish opinions!
Ugh professors that get stingy about the use of "they" as a singular pronoun frustrate me. And I use she/her pronouns so I can't imagine how frustrating it must be for anyone who uses they/them or any other gender-neutral terms. Also, 10 points off is a lot geez
the essay was part of something larger that was all together worth 100 points, so I ended up with an 89% on the assignment, but that still seems like an excessive penalty for something that is largely subjective/questionable and isn’t a universal standard. I used singular they regularly in papers for two classes last semester and had no issues so I wasn’t expecting this professor to think it was wrong.
I use he/him at college precisely because people used to mess up they/them so much (though that doesn’t guarantee that they won’t still mess up)
I can relate to the military/civilian divide. My dad recently retired after ~25 years serving as a Marine, and a lot of my childhood was shopping at the commissary or exchange. And when we lived overseas for two years, we lived on base, and my siblings and I went to school on base. Once I wasn't living with my dad, it took some getting used to, separating myself from the military brat identity that was a huge part of my childhood. It's odd, but interesting.
Yeah I imagine it’s especially weird to grow up in that environment and then have to transition into the civilian world for the first time.
