Kraftwerk ‘The Man Machine’ 1978. Finally got a copy, personally my favourite Kraftwerk album. From one of my favourite 70’s/80’s electro/synth bands. Kraftwerk have never been known for complex music but this album has more depth than some that came before. Emphasis is on man and machine, Allmusic say that Metropolis is ‘celebrating the glamour of urbanisation’ but when I here it I think of Fritz Lang’s 1927 masterpiece of the same name, it’s futuristic, it’s man and machine and the album covers Robots. Where Autobahn or Trans-Europe Express are the pinnacle for many, including myself The Man Machine is their most Accessible just listen to The Model.
