- It’ll take you a long time to even realize that you’re being held captive. Since Optimus is willing to wait and make sure things fall into place the way they should, you moving into the base seemed like your own idea. Decepticons were attacking you more and more often, so this seemed like the only reasonable response. It was so kind of Optimus to offer you a place to stay, it’s a good thing he looks out for you so much. You don’t have to worry anymore, he’ll keep you safe. He’s so careful with what he shows around you that you might not even know he loves you. He’s content to let that be for now, when the right time comes you two will be together.

- He goes out of the way to make sure you’re comfortable and happy there with him. It’s crucial to making you love him as much as he loves you, it’s important to him that you honestly return his feelings. He makes sure he spends time with you whenever he possibly can, it gets to the point where he starts slacking off with his other duties and Ratchet gets on his aft to get back to work. Optimus figured out how to compromise though, and has you sit on his shoulder while he’s working. He claims it helps him focus and relax, you do want to help him and the Autobots cause, right? A nice little bonus is that the others generally don’t approach either of you while he’s working, so he gets some quality one-on-one time with you. Just how he likes it.

- Over time, you notice the others approach you less and less. You don’t know why, but even when you try to talk to them they make up excuses to leave. Optimus is the only one who ever spends time with you, so naturally you feel very close to him. Maybe you even are starting to love him? Not wanting to ruin the one friendship you have, you decide not to bring it up. Optimus on the other hand, can see the signs when you start crushing on him and has to suppress the urge to grin. He loves when his plans fall into place like this. Shortly thereafter he confesses to being interested in pursuing a romantic relationship with you. He’ll ease you into it, knowing full well that revealing how deeply he loves you too early on would scare you off.
