So what if Neil had some kind of terminal illness; found out about it too late for it to be anything but terminal from never going to the hospital when with his mother (this is like pre-Milport but post Mary’s death)

I like the headcanon that one of the Italy brothers would eventually end up disappearing, but I hate when people say that Romano would be the one who’d disappear/die.

Romano’s heart is in Rome, the capital. Veneziano’s is in Venice, the city that is sinking into the ocean. Veneziano would be more likely to die. He’s not the capital, and his land is sinking. It’s only a matter of time before his city disappears beneath the ocean.

This, in my opinion, is why I think Veneziano is so kind. He wants people to remember him in a good light after he’s gone. (x)

While plenty of people despise the rapetruck Russia headcanon (myself included), what people usually say along with that is that they believe Russia is very sexually inexperienced or even has no knowledge of sex whatsoever. I disagree with that. To me, Russia gives off a highly promiscuous vibe, he just does not express it in a conventional way (like, for example, France does). He is very flirtatious and tends to fixate on some characters for short periods of time, like he does with Japan in the Halloween event and several other strips. Most of the sexual innuendos he makes are brushed off by the fandom as being accidental, but I don't think he's nearly as daft as many of us perceive him to be. There has never been any comment in canon that suggests he is similar to Italy and American in not being able to read the atmosphere or understand the double meanings in his words. His attitude (and the attitudes many of the nations have toward him) suggest that he often does or attempts to engage in sexual or romantic relationships with them. I personally think he has so many notches on his headboard that the damn thing shattered into pieces, but that could just be me. He just doesn't make a big deal about sex, the fact that he usually doesn't talk about his sex life doesn't mean it's nonexistent.

  Okay, but think about it. Their whole purpose for being is to get more land. More power, more money, more influence around the world.  It doesn’t make them evil; it’s just the stamp of a successful nation. There is no room for compassion. If a nation has to choose between their people and their economics vs. another’s, who will they choose? It doesn’t matter how close they are personally, they MUST do what’s best for their people, even if it means harming another nation. And if they don’t, they will be on the wrong end of the whip. It’s just the way the world works.

Romano secretly has a very soft,loving side where he acts sweet and caring, but only lets Feli know about it. Mainly he acts so tsun-tsun because he’s afraid of getting hurt by someone if he lets on that he cares about them.

I kind of dislike referring to the Hetalia characters as non-human. It makes them sound insentient to me. Even though their personalities and actions are based on that of their nations (and, of course, the stereotypes), I’d rather just think of them as immortal humans who still have hearts and minds of their own…
