So I saw the [acespec discomfort] on the last ask (basedbasedbased) and now I'm curious if you have any other(/more specific) sexuality/gender hcs for the au? Sorry if you already answered this somewhere else !!

(hehehe @munchiemooz more or less introduced me to the concept and I fell in love + I'm demi myself so it's fun to get to project that onto one of my favorite characters)

I technically did answer this a while back but I've by now refined my headcanons a bit more!

Jax/Felix: on the ace spectrum, though idk if he'd personally pin it down to anything specific? In execution I see him as demisexual though.

Pomni/Christine: confidently bisexual and has known that she is for many years.

Ragatha/Cathy: I think she used to think she's straight because she dated one or two guys pre-circus, but post-circus she has a bit of a sapphic awakening (a freshly realized bisexual).

Zooble/Nicky: agender and pansexual. Gender is just irrelevant to them as a whole.

Gangle/Emily: transfem lesbian. She's always had a fascination with things like fairies and princesses as a kid and by the time she discovered anime and manga for herself and the ways in which it portrays femininity, especially in the slice of life shoujo and magical girl genres, that was ultimately what cracked the egg. Basically when faced with the question of "do I want her or do I want to be her", her answer was a resounding YES to both. Thankfully her parents are very supportive and she got to start with HRT fairly early into puberty.

Begging people in fandom spaces to stop treating nonqueer as the default.

An unconfirmed character is not automatically allorose, monorose, straight, monogamous, with 0 prioritized nonrose (platonic/queerplatonic, alterous, sensual, etc) attraction.

An unconfirmed character is not automatically unaltered perisex, cisgender, binary, gender conforming, and pronoun conforming.

Unless the creator or character explicitly states that they are all of those things, then you literally cannot tell people "[insert character here] isn't queer!"

(And also people are allowed to headcanon things that defy canon for the sake of fun and representation, but that's a different discussion to be had.)
