Begging people in fandom spaces to stop treating nonqueer as the default.

An unconfirmed character is not automatically allorose, monorose, straight, monogamous, with 0 prioritized nonrose (platonic/queerplatonic, alterous, sensual, etc) attraction.

An unconfirmed character is not automatically unaltered perisex, cisgender, binary, gender conforming, and pronoun conforming.

Unless the creator or character explicitly states that they are all of those things, then you literally cannot tell people "[insert character here] isn't queer!"

(And also people are allowed to headcanon things that defy canon for the sake of fun and representation, but that's a different discussion to be had.)

You probably started as his caregiver. Now,his parents probably wouldn't want a guy as a caregiver,but maybe the circumstances forced this arrangemnt. Maybe they had originally hired your sister,but she fell ill and they couldn't find another one,so you stepped up.

The sight of a man had initially surprised him. Until that moment,he had only ever had female nannies. He didn't like the change at first,and so he tried to sabotage or scare you. Tried to make you fail to follow the rules,so that he would have an excuse to kill you. But eventually he stopped. You were just so caring,even with the doll. You made intricate,delicious meals,you cleaned the house,you followed the rules regiously,and even went further than that. When you heard more shuffling than usual around the house,you started singing to the doll,as if to calm down a kid. You had a beautiful voice,deep and comforting. He suspected that you knew he was there,because you really did act like you were taking care of a human,not a piece of porcelain. And sometimes,you left little treats in front of mirrors. Sugary drinks,sweets you baked,sometimes even sweaters you made in your free time. They were always a bit too small or too big,you never actually saw him and you didn't know his measurements,so you just tried to switch bewteen a few,hoping to get it right with at least one or two of them.

After a long time of this,he finally came out the walls. You had looked at him,first with fear,then with something he couldn't quite recognize. "Have you...been living in there all those years?" You asked,and your voice had nothing but concern in it. He nodded. "Oh you poor baby,that must have been terrible... let's go,I'll make you something to drink and then we can figure out the rest,alright?" You had said,and you looked sincere.

He followed you. You made him some tea and asked question,and he tried to answer best as he could. You didn't didn't look like you were gonna leave,so he was a bit more relaxed than usual. You asked question about how he lived,if he was okay,why he didn't come out sooner,if he was hurt anywhere...you seemed concerned,not scared. You didn't look or sound like you were trying to trick him.

And damed your kindness,you stayed. Because all you saw in him was a man that had gonee trought yell thinking it was normal. You helped him clean up,you took care of him,still following his rules,you didn't scream or get angry when hee threw tantrums. He,of course,started to fall for you. This was the best anyone had treated him in years. But wasn't it weird since you both were guys? He has some pretty outdated views on gay people because of his parents,thought I headcanon him as pansexual,and he only ever had feelings for women since he only had female nannies until now. But you were so kind and caring and you always tried to understand him even when he acted childishly. You never raised your voice or ran from him. You actually cared.

He probably won't confess forst because of internalized homphobia and the fear that you will leave him because of it. He loves you too much,he wouldn't be able to get over it.

But if you comfess first?

Fuck homophobia,he's the happiest man in the world. Also,you're never getting out of his grasp again. He's always at your side,basically attached to your hip. This man is so touch starved,please give him some love.

Actually,give him a lot of it.

Between the trans Jake theory and the trans Tobias theory, I just picture Marco waking up one day after the war and realizing that he had been the only guy on a team of "hot chicks" (being bi and, you know, Marco, he would have found Jake and Tobias hot in boy drag).

I love this reality. Trans Jake, neogender Tobias, intersex Ax, female Rachel, female Cassie... and Marco. The lothario of the suddenly magical-girl-heavy Animorphs, who loudly insists that he won't kiss and tell to cover for the fact that he's never kissed any of them.
